NIGHTLIGHT: Whom You Know Covers the Increasing Success of BC at a Manhattan event last night: Boston College is becoming the World's Leading Catholic Institution. GO EAGLES!

On November 16, more than 350 Boston College alumni and parents came together at Manhattan’s Club 101 to hear University President William P. Leahy offer an update on the state of the university.  Fr. Leahy shared with the group details of the university’s strategic plan, which calls for—among other things—becoming the world’s leading Catholic institution and theological center.  He also offered insight to the Jesuit school’s master plan, which will add significantly more residence halls, academic buildings, a new student center and a recreational complex.

To pay for these initiatives—and to continue to increase the amount of financial aid support BC offers its students, Fr. Leahy discussed the university’s Light the World Campaign, which endeavors to raise $1.5 billion for university priorities over the next five years.  The campaign will also more than double the number of engaged volunteers who provide their time and talent to alma mater, and will vastly increase the number of alumni who make annual gifts to BC.

Jeff Carman, BC Class of 2002 and Chair of the school’s New York Alumni Chapter, began the evening by welcoming the huge crowd and introducing Boston College alumni and well-known NY-based entertainers Anthony and Will Nunziata ’06, Upcoming Movers and Shakers on Whom You Know.  The twins performed a song from their show for the group.  Carman wrapped up the evening by encouraging his fellow alumni to become more active in the Boston College Alumni Association (www.bc.edu/alumni).

Whom You Know highly recommends Boston College.   Peachy Deegan is a graduate.
