TIBI Fall 2010 Collection February 16, 2010 a Hit by Our Mover and Shaker, Amy Smilovic!
Napoleon and Josephine. Tibi’s Fall 10 collection is about the appeal of opposites – masculine meets feminine, draping paired with structure, and neutrals with high contrast brights. Looks featured a variety of separates in contrasting textures, leather and chiffon, paillette sequins and knits. Layering played a lead role under strapless dresses, sweater coats and floor length gowns. Disheveled curls topped the heads of dewy faced models (makeup by Bobbi Brown), walking to a lively beat in Tibi sling back clogs and Maria La Rosa thigh high socks in varying hues.
“When developing my Fall 10 collection, I realized I was in the mood for loads of utterly chic daywear - fabulous separates that would look effortlessly put together. This season is heavily influenced by sportswear and I believe the first time I’ve injected so much of myself and my own lifestyle into the collection. I’m stealing a quote from Sarah Mower, but I absolutely focused on being “radically normal” this season.” –Amy Smilovic
Last night, Whom You Know braved the slushy weather to hit the tents once again for Tibi's Fall 2010 show. In a surprising departure from prior seasons' bright colors and vibrant prints, Tibi went for a darker and more earthy palette for fall. While keeping to the feminine silhouettes that's the trademark of the label, there were some definite masculine flourishes (tweeds, flannels & military touches) that were thrown into the mix. And just to show they haven't all but abandoned their usual fun & flirty side, the line-up was punctuated with some jazzy, shimmery dresses & gowns that are sure to please the perennial Tibi fan. A standout is the Tile Beaded Strapless Goddess Dress. Keeping the overall mood lite & playful, all the models sashayed down the runway with big, bouncy & playful curls that were a refreshing counterpoint to the more serious and practical styles this coming fall.
