A bit of history behind this wonder of a scent:
Acqua di Parma Colonia. The origin of the legend. The olfactory archetype which in all its rich nuances embraces the essence of being Italian. A sensual intuition of the art of haute parfumerie, now expressed in two new, harmonious variations: Colonia Assoluta and Colonia Intensa. The legend evolves, enriched and fulfilled. Three masterpieces orchestrated on the one theme. The true, the one and only, Colonia Italiana.
CULTURE AND HISTORY, COMPOSITIONS OF BRILLIANCE
1916. A small factory of essences in the ancient heart of Parma, the sophisticated, aristocratic city of Giuseppe Verdi and Stendhal. It was here, with visionary and evolved sensibility, that master parfumeurs created an unusually refreshing, crisp and subtle fragrance, so different from the strong and intense perfumes that were the vogue in those years. Acqua di Parma Colonia. Its sophisticated alchemy was an instant success, and would soon become a timeless classic. Almost one hundred years on, the recipe for the fragrance has remained unchanged and its individual ingredients are still today distilled by hand.
Colonia Assoluta and Colonia Intensa were born of the same skill and passion. Subtle, musical variations created by Acqua di Parma, a master parfumeur of haute parfumerie.
ART AND NATURE, THE BEST OF ITALIAN CITRUS FRUITS
Incomparable sensations of freshness and luminosity. The pure joy of Italian living, as released by the best quality citrus fruits from Sicily and Calabria. This is the authentic pleasure that only the three varieties of Acqua di Parma Colonia so knowingly bestow. In the art of haute parfumerie, the classic structure of eau de cologne finds its most enhancing expression in top notes of citrus fruits, with a body of floral middle notes that blend with light hints of spice and herbs, rounded-off on woody base notes.
Acqua di Parma Colonia offers three different interpretations of this essential structure, all boasting excellence, and only the finest, selected ingredients. The most important element: citrus fruits, which in Italy are renowned for their outstanding quality. Acqua di Parma selects only the finest varieties: bergamot from Calabria, lemon and orange from Sicily, along with orange blossoms and petigrain, the twigs of the orange tree. Special extraction methods include the pressing of the peel so as to obtain the precious essential oil it contains, which is then used directly in the creation of the fragrance.
STYLE AND ELEGANCE, THE ART DÉCO BOTTLE
Acqua di Parma Colonia, in all its three varieties, is a classic in Italy and throughout the world. An icon of sensuality and design. The celebrated Art Déco bottle, created in 1916, with its essential and ever so modern lines and bakelite lid, has become the distinctive mark of the three fragrances. Skilful craftsmanship is revealed in every last detail - from the labels, featuring the blazon royal of Parma, which are still applied by hand, one by one, to the handcrafted gaufrage of the cylinder-shaped box, in the characteristic yellow of Acqua di Parma.
The labels and lids feature colours evoking the connotations of each fragrance: black and white for Colonia, silver for Colonia Assoluta, and bronze for Colonia Intensa. With a stylishness and elegance that has no need for ostentation.
Designed exclusively for a cosmopolitan public, of innate class.
