READ THIS: Tea Party 20 Themed Tea Parties with Recipes for Every Occasion, from Fabulous Showers to Intimate Gatherings by Tracy Stern

We love Tracy Stern!  She is a Mover and Shaker:

Tracy was one of the first, featured originally in April 2009.

She is our first Mover and Shaker on Video:

She put us on the map in Fame Game yesterday:

More importantly, Tracy is someone that believes and shows in her actions that is nice to be important, but more important to be nice.  She exudes grace and class in everything she does and we admire her.  We cannot think of a better candidate to write a book about Tea Parties, and we think it is not only high time for tea but also high time we review her book!

From New Year's Day to a Summer Picnic, every tea party occasion is covered by Tracy Stern in Tea Party.  The ritual of tea, found in cultures from Ireland to the Far East is embraced around the world throughout the ages and now Manhattanites of today can properly celebrate with more panache and style than ever before when reading Tea Party.  Tracy's attention to detail is superb, and her menus are complete.  Just follow what she suggests, right down to music and party favors, and you cannot go wrong!  We love her tea party music and feature it at our soirees; we have recommended it in New York Notes:

The recipes are phenomenal, the photography is exquisite, and not only is this book infinitely useful, it is also beautiful to show on your coffee table, or perhaps TEA table!  It makes an excellent gift as well.  Even gentlemen have tea...and if the ones you know don't yet, buy them this book!

Tea parties have gone chic!  Tracy Stern, owner of SALONTEA, the wildly popular line of teas and tea-based beauty products, has hosted hundreds of stylish tea parties for the stars.  In her new book, TEA PARTY: 20 Themed Tea Parties with Recipes for Every Occasion, from Fabulous Showers to Intimate Gatherings (Clarkson Potter/Publishers, May 1, 2007), Tracy Stern brings twenty themed tea parties to life withmore than seventy-five easy and elegant recipes—from Vanilla Tea-Infused Sponge Cake to Tea-Scented Chocolate Truffles.

TEA PARTY is the perfect solution for Mother’s Day, graduation, or just a quiet afternoon with friends.  This beautifully photographed, easy-to-follow guide presents savvy tips on choosing and brewing teas for every occasion—with lots of fun and very little fuss.   Tracy Stern wrote this with Christie Matheson.

Some of the themed parties included in TEA PARTY are:
    • Mad Hatter’s Tea Party (pg. 55):  Remember Alice in Wonderland?  This zany, colorful party—a very happy luncheon or afternoon treat—will delight kids and adults alike with tea sandwiches made with edible flowers followed by Eat Me! Cupcakes.

    • Mother’s Day Tea (pg. 65): Every day should be Mother’s Day!  What better way to celebrate Mom and all she does than by having a lovely and soothing afternoon tea with a soft lavender color scheme, the fragrance of lavender in the air, and springy purple flowers everywhere.  Recipes include Apple, Goat Cheese, and Lavender Tea Sandwiches; Lavender-Lemon Cake; and Lavender-Honey Ice Cream.

    • Fashionable French Tea (pg. 75): Throw a luncheon that evokes thoughts of Paris, Coco Chanel, and the Eiffel Tower in a color scheme of striking black and white (with a touch of pink).  Serve Vichyssoise and Grilled Tuna Niçoise Salad.

    • Gentlemen’s Tea (pg. 105): Tea parties aren’t just for the ladies!  You can host a tea for your father, brother, husband, boyfriend, or good friend.  The setting should be classic, the decor should be reminiscent of an old-school gentlemen’s club.  This tea party is complete with recipes for Apple Sausage Sandwiches with Hot Mustard, Tomato, and Arugula and Black Tea Brownies.

    • Bridal Shower (pg. 117): Go beyond the typical bridal shower activities and create a party the bride-to-be and her friends will really love: a spa night that helps everyone relax and have a great time.  Recipes include healthful, delicious foods buffet style and a selection of fun tea-based martinis.

    • Children’s Tea Party (pg. 143): This party is all about fun and introducing children to the wonderful custom of drinking tea.  It’s absolutely delightful for a little girl’s birthday party lunch or an afternoon tea where dolls are the primary guests.  Suggestions for invitations, decor, music, party favors, and of course tea sandwiches are all included.

TEA PARTY is a hip, up-to-date slant on a beloved tradition, inspiring everyone to drink a little more tea, celebrate a little more often, and enjoy life a whole lot more.   Whom You Know highly recommends Tea Party by Tracy Stern!  We are happy to call her our friend and proud she is part of our panel, and if you didn't know that, watch her video...!!!
