Salon Peachy: Salon Ziba on West 57th Street Excels in Cut, Color and Chatting with Peachy in her Broken French! Izabela Saboski is the Queen of Color and Francois Fortin is a Master Stylist! Reinvigorate Your Style and Visit Them Today!!

In a phrase, Salon Ziba will make you Ziba, if it is Persian that you speak.  Peachy Deegan does not speak Persian at all, but is thinking about taking it up if it can make her hair look this fabulous every day!  As soon as she got there, Izabela Saboski, Queen of Color, warmly greeted her and was the total professional both in manner and color execution all afternoon.  Izabela has been doing color for 20 years....and she totally got it right.  As you have seen from reading our posts today we had an outstanding experience on World Yacht last night and the only thing that compared to it all day was Peachy Deegan's hair, and possibly all week too on both accounts.

Peachy Deegan's hair has become legendary in Salon Peachy....and she has been lucky enough to work with some outstanding stylists and colorists and was so excited to add to the group yesterday with the stars of Salon Ziba.  Let us be absolutely clear: Peachy has legendary hair because of the legendary people that do it, and great genes too of course.  As our devoted readers know, among Peachy's greatest nightmares is walking out of a salon with red hair in any respect, and those of her that remember junior year in college can remember with hilarity how her hatred of a bad dye job got her a skunky correction that made everyone's jaw drop that night in Conte Forum.  This would never happen to you in Salon Ziba as we see it from our experience yesterday.  You get exactly the opposite.

Salon Ziba is twenty years old, and to have that kind of history in the heartbeat of Manhattan on 57th street is quite good.  The lighting inside is great and it is designed with wood and light in mind.

Yesterday was our first time at Salon Ziba ever.  The consultation with Izabela was a dream, and covered everything from conversation about the latest innovations in hair dyes to a personal visit from the fabulous people at Kerastase just for the latest treatment for Peachy.  From the beginning to the finishing touches by Francois Fortin, master stylist, the Salon Ziba experience leaves the world thinking you look this fabulous everyday, effortlessly, right down to your toes.  More about that later...

One of the most exciting aspects of Salon Ziba yesterday was their introduction of Inoa to Peachy.  What is Inoa?  You should know Salon Ziba is a flagship for this new innovation in haircolor, and to be frank the best part of this aside from the fact that the color itself is absolutely amazing is that it does not smell at all believe it or not.  Salon Ziba is a healthy place to work due to this and the industrial strength air purifiers which are so smart.   Inoa is a permanent color with no ammonia and your hair structure will return back to normal through the use of this product, which we have not heard of before in other hair dyes.  It is so cutting edge, and Inoa just came out in May 2010 by L'Oreal Professional.  Izabela is an encyclopedia of information on color and she is great to talk to during this whole process, and she is so nice and personable.  Assisted by Gloria Carrasco, who joined in when the single process color needed to be massaged in, leaving hair shinier, Izabela clearly leads a winning team.  The residual was removed from the scalp, and the color was left on for 35 minutes.

Post-color Noia shampoo followed this, and Izabela expertly followed this with the Force Refill antibreakage Reinforcement Treatment before the highlights.  It was injected from mid-shaft to the ends of the hair, adding a smooth continuity and sultry style.  You know Peachy has natural blond highlights, (stop laughing), so the next step was the amazing Platinum lightening paste which is ammonia-free, and also quite innovative.  During this, Peachy got a fabulous Bordeaux manicure by Lulu Nunik Sulistyawati who has been doing nails for four years, and also got her toes to match before she headed out.  Lulu is quietly sweet and great at this.

We are always the most impressed (or not) with the skill of the person doing the highlights, as although Peachy is super-analytical and trained to be a banker and has no experience in doing highlights herself unless you count one more comic episode in college, she can totally distinguish who is good at highlights and who is not good because obviously she critiques them all and looks in the mirror for days to come afterwards!  Izabela is a total expert and she knew to get the look Peachy was after; she used sweet meches and quick meches to make the world think it actually grows in this way, or that the sun just favors Peachy immensely.  The next stop was a personal visit from Joaly Aleda from Kerastase who brought Izabela their latest treatment used one of the first times if not the very first time on Peachy: the Oleo Fusion-for dehydrated, rebellious hair.  To give you a visual, this product is like sending your hair to the corner when it doesn't behave.  Peachy's hair totally knows who the power player is now when it tries to rebel.   Finally Princess Peachy's excellent color was complete with the Richesse Gloss for curly hair.  We loved Izabella Sabokski and all we can say is she is #1 a magician and #2 the poor people in Poland have lost their great hair to Manhattan.  They should move here just so she can do their color.

Next was the right cut to go with this color, and veteran Francois Fortin (pronounced like you would say quatorze in English) who has been at Salon Ziba for 19 consecutive years was the key asset to getting the style right.  Francois has spent 25 years in hairstyling, and he trained in Paris at Jean Louis DeForgs and Jean Claude Bigune.   After chatting in English about the right cut for Peachy, Francois and Peachy had such fun conversing in French and he was quite tolerant of all of Peachy's grammatical mistakes that happen after not keeping it up well for many years.  From Le Petit Prince to Moliere's Tartuffe (is that how you spell it Francois!?!) to what Francois thinks the best French restaurant in Manhattan is, Peachy was totally entertained while she got her hair cut.  Francois added body to her hair only taking a half inch off the ends, angling it around the face, and adding more body on top.

Salon Ziba has talented people who excel, and it is in a great location, attracting many clients in theatre and locals and tourists alike flock to Salon Ziba to look perfectly coiffed.  After the perfect blowdry by Francois Fortin, Peachy Deegan left Salon Ziba thoroughly impressed with the entire experience.  We think you will love it too.
