See Manhattan On Your Feet Continues with Xterra for Women: WOMENS-XTERRA XT1.0 BLUE Recommended by Whom You Know

Running shoes don't have straps....... right? Running shoes are designed to allow your foot to move efficiently from foot strike to toe off in a straight line while running on a flat surface, and there are a lot to choose from in Manhattan, from streets to avenues!

Straight line? Flat surface? What trail is that?  Well now you must be in the ramble in Central Park.   In an XTERRA trail run you are jumping over roots and rocks, slogging through soft sand and mud, drowning in water, and clawing your way up mountains, then sliding back down. Generally you are just abusing yourself for fun and fitness.   And it was muddy in Central Park if you did this today!

There is nothing straight or flat about trail running. So what is "normal" for a running shoe does not apply to trail running. The XT1.0 is designed for XTERRA trail running.  You'll be ferociously pounding down your running path like a tiger-Whom You Know learned of this brand through Panthera: http://www.whomyouknow.com/2010/07/pantheras-recent-partnership-with.html

These shoes are designed for all kinds of surfaces, and in this regard, they really stand out.  You will be equally comfortable and your foot will be be generously supported in the Xterra XT 1.0 whether you are going through the most twisted trail in the park in July or smooth sailing on a treadmill in the dead of a Manhattan winter.  We prefer them in blue!  From the 3D mesh that provides support and stability in front along with the forefoot webbing, to the uniquely designed strap, this model provides
the right amount of structure to keep your foot anchored over the sole so you can keep on running, even in this extreme heat and mugginess!  Even after miles your feet will still be smiling.

What is the NARRGuard stabilizer strap? A lightweight synthetic strap that works together with the forefoot webbing to secure your foot for trail running. It's not a ratchet, just an overlay with a Velcro close. The midsole is injected EVA, no cushioning is wasted by compressing the EVA into a mold, plus no material is wasted during manufacturing. The XT1.0 has a blown rubber outsole with a carbon rubber toe. Blown rubber is lighter. Xterra even uses carbon rubber on the toe so the lugs can dig better on those gnarly, muddy trails.   The versatility in performance of this sneaker has everyone from Peachy Deegan who specializes in sprints from store to store on Fifth Avenue to the Baltimore Ravens, who of course are quite serious athletes.

What is WILDTred? Inspired by a big cats paw, WILDTred is the out-sole's solution to traction. When a big cat runs it uses it's paws for traction, claws only come into play as a last resort. This out-sole works the same way, the entire blown rubber perimeter wraps around surfaces for traction, while the large indentations dig and bite allowing the perimeter to perform like separate pads. The center section of the outsole is concave with aggressive lugs, this provides two advantages. When running on a firm surface the center will compress increasing your stability, but when on an uneven surface, the center lugs can protrude to help grasp the trail.
