DAYLIGHT: Movers and Shakers Will and Anthony Nunziata Perform Funiculi Funicula at the Columbus Day Parade! Anthony Chats with Peachy About It...

You'll remember we previously posted the videos:

On October 12, 1929, New York City businessman and Italian immigrant Generoso Pope led a parade from East Harlem down to Columbus Circle. The parade celebrated Christopher Columbus’s explorations and the achievements and contributions of Italian-Americans to the landscape of New York and the United States. It was followed by a fund-raising dinner to benefit immigrants creating a new life for themselves in New York City.

The annual Columbus Day Parade is the world’s largest celebration of Italian-American heritage and culture and is broadcast on six continents, and the Gala Dinner brings together leaders of the United States and Italy for an evening that pays tribute to a centuries-old bond. The parade and dinner are just two of the events that are part of New York’s Columbus Celebration, held each October.

Through sponsorships of the parade, exhibitions, and gala, the Columbus Citizens Foundation raises millions of dollars to support the education of Italian-American students who have the drive to succeed in school and beyond, but not the means to reach their potential.  Whom You Know was pleased to cover the parade and the performance of our Movers and Shakers Will and Anthony Nunziata!  Anthony Nunziata chatted with Peachy Deegan about Columbus Day and their performance.

Peachy Deegan: What should our readers know about the importance of Columbus Day?
Anthony Nunziata: Columbus Day is a ceremonial day celebrating the Italian American history and culture

How did you arrive at a decision to sing Funiculi Funicula?
Upbeat, fun, great song to highlight our singing and personalities.

What did you enjoy the most about singing for the parade?
Proud moment to sing on national television in celebration of our Italian American heritage

Tell our readers about your upcoming Staten Island performance please.
October 15th, 7:30 dinner, 9:30 show time. Lorenzo's at the Hilton Hotel on Staten Island. 60 minute concert with and Italian twist.

Peachy Deegan talks about Swifty's all the time; now that you have been there, what was your impression?
Delicious. The cheeseburgers are to die for.

Would you sing at the St Patrick's Day parade, and if you had the chance, what would you sing?
We are wee bit Irish, so that would be fun. Perhaps a duo arrangement of Danny Boy. It's one of my mom's favorite songs.

Peachy Deegan was pleased to see and meet:
Mover and Shaker Anthony Nunziata
Mover and Shaker Will Nunziata
