People say it truly has a fresh, homemade taste and they are absolutely right. In 1986, the Dell'Amore family began bottling Grandmother Filomena's recipe for marinara sauce in Burlington, VT. The recipe remains to this day unchanged; no shortcuts, no substitutions. It is made with California plum tomatoes, 100 % olive oil, fresh garlic, basil, and spices! There are no fillers, additives, thickeners or artificial ingredients. Additionally, it's gluten free with no tomato paste, no water added, no added salt or sugar because the tomatoes are so sweet too. The oil is such high quality, the garlic is fresh, and the basil is pungent and abundant. Dell'Amore Sauce is perfect on any pasta of course. It is wonderful on cheese ravioli. Peachy Deegan is so crazy about it she has started to grab a spoon and just eat it out of the jar inbetween writing posts as she has developed an addiction. The cannery in Colchester, VT is FDA inspected and approved and it is also O.U. Kosher certified which means that in addition to the facility being inspected monthly, all the ingredients used are inspected to confirm consistency with the product ingredients used. i.e.: they don't switch from one brand ingredient to another in order to save money. Knowing this, the consumer can be assured the product is always the same.

Dell’Amore sweet bail and garlic is by far my favorite of all the Dell' Amore marinara sauces. The house is filled with basil and garlic the second you open the jar. The sauce explodes with basil and garlic with every bite. It truly tastes as if I grew the basil in my own back yard. Mine and my wife's favorite meal at BC was spaghetti with tomato basil sauce. We would meet at Addie's in the lower dinning hall every Sunday night. We had dinner there for 3 years. I absolutely love love love garlic and this is one sauce that is authentically Italian from a jar that just bursts with true flavor. I have become quite the fan of Dell'Amore brand and in this third review I have total confidence that they are sincerely Italian and know what they're doing. This sauce is so fresh and not oily or watery as inferior jarred sauces can be. The garlic is not too intense but if it were, I would not be complaining! The volume and consistency of this sauce, not to mention the quality ingredients, add to the overall excellence. You will love this from the moment you open the jar!
Dell' Amore's Sweet Basil and Garlic sauce brings life to any dish. I love the bold taste of basil and garlic in this sauce. I also love the sweetness in the sauce. Oh YUM! I used this sauce with a pasta and sweet Italian sausage. My husband was in heaven! I was too! We couldn't get enough of the sauce - to be honest - for the both of us I used the entire bottle. I had to keep reheating more sauce because we couldn't get enough of it. If you want to dig into a great sauce that has bold and sweet flavors then you have found the right one.
I grew up in an Italian family on my mom's side and had lots of experiences with homemade sauce. The recipe that my great-grandmother made has been handed down. Because of this, I have become picky about the sauce I use for anything Italian I make. I haven't found anything in a jar that I have liked, until now. The Sweet Basil and Garlic is a favorite. I love garlic, and I love the bits of chopped up garlic right in the sauce. Pasta with sauce is like a comfort food for me. I would definitely use this sauce if I didn't feel like making sauce myself. And that is saying a lot! This sauce is one of the best I've tried. I will definitely buy more of this product!
