It was better than terrific, so it graduated to Tasty Tidbits:

We are pleased to say it soundly has graduated to Peachy's Picks as well, and Peachy Deegan herself must say that Bruno DiCarlo has outdone himself with the level of cuisine featured by Chef Paul Floess who hails from Bolzano, Italy!  Luna Rossa is a newcomer - it's only been open a few months- and it is well on its way to being a staple of Italian Upper East side fine dining!  The menu changes about three times a year and we hear from Paul that it will change again soon, so dash off to make your reservation right after you read this review so you can have what we had because it was excellent!  Although, we imagine their next menu would be superb as well.  Domenico Narducci was a delight all night, and was completely attentive as a waiter and made not one mistake.

Peachy Began with the Insalata di Campo al Balsamico Bianco e Scaglie di Parmigiano-which for those of you who don't speak Italian means Mixed Greens with White Balsamic Vinaigrette and Shaved Parmesan Cheese.  As you can see the colors just bursted with freshness and the cheese was the right shade of thin that the angels must eat above too.  The dinner was a total home run!  Peachy always likes to know the specials menu since she fancies herself special at times (laughter!) and she had to try the Black Ink Tagliolini with Shrimps in a Light Spicy Tomato Sauce Topped with Arugula.  This not only was fabulous, but also it was unique.  You would think with the amount of Italian food we critique we wouldn't find something new, but we did at Luna Rossa!  It is only going to be a matter of time before you will not see an empty seat in this place...
And, the dessert was in keeping with the quality of the aforementioned meal.  Peachy loved the apple strudel the most-you know her, she's so All-American....but don't just listen to Peachy.  She brought some of the most fashionable Movers and Shakers along, and they say:
We were greeted with such a warm welcome. The owner said he liked his customers to not feel rushed and encourages them to linger.  Although he mentioned this at the end of meal, we noted at the beginning of the meal it was nice they weren't rushing us to order.  Genuinely charming and kind staff and owners.  The decor is charming and romantic.  I would definitely venture from Gramercy up to the Upper East Side for the pleasant ambiance and for the fantastic food.
To start for the table the brusheta was complete with fresh tomatoes. We all enjoyed the large chunk of parmesean cheese on the side. I started with the hearty minestrone soup with basil pesto.  The soup was chocked full of fresh vegetables and it seemed like a minimum amount of olive oil.  The pesto was rich and a nice surprise on the usual minestrone soup.
For my main meal I had the Oven Roasted Organic Conish-Hen served with Broccoli Rabe and Lemon Sauce.  The hen was sumptuous and there was an extreme amount of lemon which made for a very zesty and flavorful hen. For dessert we were brought ricotta cheescake, apple strudel and creme brulee. I am partial to ny style cheescake, but this was the best ricotta cheescake I have ever tasted.   Not only moist and rich with flavor; there also raisins, a little bit of liqour and the top is coated just like creme brulee. The apple strudel was very fresh and probably the "healthiest" choice here.
My favorite was the creme brulee.  Only for the extreme sweet-tooth, possibly the sweetest thing I have ever tasted!

I shared a wonderful dinner last night!  Chef Paul Floess turned out a delicious three course dinner and my mouth is still watering… I started with their house Montepulciano which was so light and smooth and delicious (not acidic or bitter).
The red wine was calm and  paired beautifully with the warm lentil salad with crispy pancetta, apple and green onions.  At first bite, it was a little tangy… and then I fell in love with this ingenious and healthy winter starter. From there, I moved on to a light and lovely oven roasted Mediterranean Branzino with fennel, tomato and black olives.  It was thoughtfully articulated and delicate and left me with enough room to devour the most unreal ricotta cheesecake.
I never would have ordered cheesecake, but upon hearing how wonderful it was, I just had to try it. This delectable dessert is moist, crunchy and sweet with raisins and a brule crust on top.  Seriously, I need more… now!  The ambience is relaxed, super friendly and calm… just the way I like it!  I will be back with friends next week to try the black ink tagliolini with shrimps and get another slice of that divine dessert.

Whom You Know Highly Recommends Luna Rossa!  Simply fabulous.
