Champagne Wishes: Carpineto Chianti Classico Riserva 2005 DOCG Highly Recommended by Whom You Know!

It's not who you know, it's WHOM YOU KNOW.  Well, we know Cosimo Bruno.  We even know his lobster.  His lobster was soooo fabulous he got a kiss on both cheeks from Peachy:
If you haven't blained the lobster at Caravaggio, you have not lived.
On St. Patrick's Day, Peachy Deegan felt compelled to share Irish cheer with Cosimo:
Obviously, to properly celebrate, you must toast with The Peachy Deegan.
To be fair, she shared it with Giuseppe too since we loved Sistina first:
But in spreading this fabulous Irish cheer, you know we were bound to meet more amazing Italians:
And we could not be more pleased about that! Antonio M. Zaccheo is a total peach, and we just had to try his Carpineto Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG!

origin with a high content of clay and sandstone. Fruit from
approximately 20 hectares of land is used in the production of

vines benefit from a typical Mediterranean climate of warm
summers and mild winters.

A complex and elegant bouquet highlighted by persistent
raspberry and vanilla aromas. It is warm and full with a velvety
mouthfeel and a long, generous finish. This Riserva will reward
extensive cellaring.

The Champagne Wishes Panel raves:

Smooth.  Warm.  Comforting.  Delicious.  What do all of these adjectives have in common?  They all describe the delectable Carpineto 2005 Chianti Classico Riserva.  Produced from 100% Sangiovese grapes grown on historic hillside vineyards, this riserva is sure to grow even more enjoyable as it ages.  However, it is absolutely divine as is!  As I sipped a glass the other evening, I felt the cares and stress of the week slip away.  I was transported to a calm, comforting Italian countryside, far away from the noise and chaos of Manhattan.  Highlighted in the bouquet are hints of berry and vanilla, as well as just a bit of cherry and a touch of spice.  The wine is aged in oak for at least a year and then bottle aged for 10 months.  The result is a highly drinkable wine with balanced oak and soft, supple tannins.  The mouthfeel is warm and rich, and the finish is long and smooth.  This wine would pair well with any number of foods, including roast, game, and anything with red sauce!  However, it is also just as enjoyable on its own, as the complexity of the flavors is really able to shine through!  Perfect for sharing with friends or hoarding for yourself, this Chianti is a must-try either way!  It is, in a word, perfetto!

After heading up a corporate events division for quite a few years, I thought I knew all the wines there are to know!  I keep current and always try new bottles. You can imagine how often I am looking for a new wine to impress our guests on behalf of our company's elite. Well, thank you Peachy for turning me on to Carpineto's Chianti Classico Riserva 2005.  This full-bodied red is as impressive as many bottles costing 2 times it's price!   Please note, this is not just a good wine, but a great wine!  The age of the wine explains the mellow backdrop of flavors -- nothing overpowering.  I enjoy the berry essence  that come through, giving way to rich, deep flavors.
I have found my favorite pairing for this wine has been with a baked rigatoni in a light tomato and cream sauce with a mild Italian suasage.  Serve it with some fresh bread.  In a word -- Fantastico!
I suggest this wine for anyone, like myself, looking for something special that you can enjoy on a regular basis.  As I mentioned this is not an overwhelming wine and can really be enjoyed as both a wine to pair a meat with, or on its own to sip.  This is definitely a wine I will be introducing my clients to, and suspect it will be added to my corporate events life as well!  Salute and enjoy!

Ever since our summer in the Cinque Terre, my husband I have LOVED Italian wines.  We recently had the opportunity to review the Carpineto Chianti Classico 2005 and greatly enjoyed it.  A lovely earthy dry Chianti, this wine was perfect for our dinner of rigatoni with spicy italian sausage.  This slightly sour wine has some dark berry overtones, which balance out the acidity quite nicely.  The Carpineto is a very drinkable wine.  Its versatility makes it a great choice to keep on hand, as it pairs well with so many different sorts of dishes.  The flavor of this wine improved, as the night progressed.  Once the wine had a chance to breath, the fruitiness emerged more.  Next time I will plan ahead and decant first.  But this was definitely a gorgeous wine that we will order again!

Whenever I buy wine, nine times out of ten I look for a Chianti.  Although I enjoy all kinds of red wine, Chianti is my favorite.  This is why I was really looking forward to trying Carpineto's Chianti Classico Reserva 2005.  This dry red wine is made from 100% Sangiovese grapes and aged in oak casks for over a year.  Then it is bottle aged for at least 10 months after that.  All the care and hard work they put into producing their wine really pays off.  This Chianti is my new favorite, and on my next visit to the wine shop, I will make sure to pick up another bottle!  I think that visit will be quite soon too, since I cannot wait to have another glass of this great Chianti!
The wine has a very pleasant aroma.  It smells fruity with hints of raspberry and cherry.  The taste is extremely smooth with notes of tobacco and plum.  This wine would pair very well with game dishes, but it also would taste great with pasta in a red sauce.  I even enjoyed it all on its own!
Next time you are in the mood for a great red wine, and you are unsure of which one to choose, pick Carpineto Chianti Classico Riserva 2005!  Actually, pick up a few bottles and save yourself a few trips back to the store!  You certainly won't regret it!

Carpineto Chianti Classico Riserva is so so SO wonderful. I love to serve this wine at dinner. A nice roast or chicken and some of this delicious wine. How can I begin to tell you how much I love it! The taste of lush cherry. The well balanced oak and soft tannins. Well it truly is a party in my mouth. I love that this Chianti has a lot of dark, ripe, fruity flavors. It has a rich and lush taste. It makes me feel like I'm in Italy. Grab a bottle and serve it at your next dinner party. Or better yet, grab it and bring it to the party. Trust me it will be the talk of the town. Get a bottle while you can. I'm telling you this one will sell fast!
