Terrific Takeout: Intimo
Ten months old on the upper east side with Tuscan cuisine, Intimo is a swanky newcomer to a crowded plethora of hotspots on second avenue and not only is a lounge, but also is a restaurant with cuisine that matters. As a main course we tried the Branzino Grigliato: Grilled Branzino Filet over Broccoli Rabe. It was joined by some friendly potatoes...you know that Irish people like Peachy think all potatoes are affable. As a starter we tried the meatballs:
And like most everything, they are even better with cheese! We liked how the cheese was packaged in a separate container so we could sprinkle it over when we were ready to eat it. Common sense is not so common we have found in some of our takeout reviews and we can say that Intimo has it together! The proper name of the meatballs is: Polpette al Pomodoro.
The green salad was simply amazing. You cannot beat it on a hot summer night, and the vegetables were fresh and delicious!
Intimo is Terrific Takeout!
Their site tells us:
Authentic Italian cuisine, complemented by a selection from our exotic wine list, in a classy but relaxed atmosphere illustrates the perfect setting for an exceptional dining experience. Whether you're dining in our newly designed rear room, having a glass of wine with friends at the bar or digging into a delectable homemade dessert, Intimo is ready to surpass your dining expectations. After 30 years in the industry, our director Frank Pecora added Intimo to his restaurant portfolio in early 2010. What separates Intimo from the ordinary wine bar is "La Cella", a newly built walk-in wine cellar, where over 300 bottles of unique wines are kept at the ideal temperature of 58 degrees F, for the ultimate satisfaction. Our savory menu includes delicious homemade pasta, fine cuts of meat, and many other authentic Northern Italian dishes. The dedicated team at Intimo looks forward to serving you and providing you with an unforgettable experience. |
