Peachy Picks Caffe Cielo
Since 1986, Caffe Cielo has been delighting locals and tourists alike with their beautiful Northern Italian Fare at 881 8th Avenue. We believe cielo is the word for heaven in Italian, and when you visit you will understand where it got its name. The cuisine you will find here is just as lovely as Isabella Gambuto and her dad who started Caffe Cielo the year she was born!

Be sure to say hello to them when you dine at Caffe Cielo; they will regale you!

We are pleased to say it has graduated to Peachy's Picks!
Its solid Northern Italian cuisine, its heavenly atmosphere and its convenient location for theatre-goers make Caffe Cielo a fine choice for dinner.
Peachy Deegan sipped on a refreshing Kendall Jackson Sauvignon Blanc during her meal which began with Insalata di Pollo, above. The strips of grilled chicken were tender and flavorful and the arugula, endive, and radicchio formed the perfect setting for it to rest upon that was fresh and delicious.

The Fettuccine con Argosta was simply divine. In particular, the size of each component was perfectly bite-sized and in addition to the superior quality of both the lobster and the fettuccine, it made for one impressive dish. The vodka sauce was decadent and the asparagus added some nice color. The desserts were tempting, and in particular, the Tiramisu.
Don't listen to just Peachy, though!

The ambience is very pleasant and casual.
The great thing about this restaurant is that the owner and the staff simply make you fell especially welcome.
I started with the Peperoni Arrosto, roasted peppers with olives and basil, that was very well prepared and full of flavor.
Definitely a great choice for an early diner before a show!
The wine- a Sauvignon Blanc was so refreshing and went well with everything that follows.
For main course, the special of the day, Penne with pancetta and asparagus in a sauce of white wine was delicious and “all dente”.
Desserts were “The piece of resistance”
The homemade Tiramisu, mascarpone mousse with lady fingers …..Fabulous!
Gelato di Spumoni Italian ice cream…never had in NYC anything like it!
Really good Italian food, quick service and lovely atmosphere!
My appetizer, the Frutti di Mare (shrimp and bay scallops with roasted red peppers marinated in extra virgin olive oil) was absolutely delicious. The shrimp and scallops were perfectly tender and with a squeeze of fresh lemon the acidity was perfect with the red peppers. It was a light and refreshing way to begin dinner.
My entree, the Sogliola con Salsa Verde (sautéed filet of sole with capers and parsley in extra virgin olive oil and lemon) had a great flavor from the capers and the potatoes au gratin was perfect. The housemade Tiramisu was one of the best I've had and the Spumone from Spumone Gardens in Brooklyn was life-altering-good!
