Terrific Takeout: Desmond's

Desmond's a newcomer to the dining scene in Manhattan-they opened in May 2011 and so far, so fabulous we'd say based on our initial reaction to the outstanding takeout Peachy Deegan experienced.  Anyone that doesn't realize that England boasts great masters of cuisine clearly has not visited Desmond's and you know we are complete anglophiles here-the whole site was named after Peachy's 10th grade English class.  It is not easy to find a great English place and it may have taken us over 100 takeout reviews, but we finally found one.  We began with the lobster cobb salad which was tremendous.  Perfect bite-sized pieces of lobster danced around the greenery as bacon, tomato and cheese also joined the party.  Dressed lightly, this was a winner of a start.  Refreshing!
We continued to be impressed as we progressed to the pork belly with salted caramel complimented by apple salad-golden delicious to be exact!  This was a knockout for fall and every bite oozes pure deliciousness.  This premium dish is one you must order and of course it tastes even better when Peachy eats it off the beautiful Mikasa china, previously featured:
Originally from London, Chef David Hart not only is a stellar master of cuisine, but also you'll see as you enter Desmond's that he doesn't miss a trick in interior design either.  We're even writing in charcoal to match the stripe on their walls which looks great next to the red stripe on white.  Quite a professional, Chef David Hart not only personally handed her the takeout order, but also had a cocktail with her when she arrived.  Obviously this is a chef who is reading us because we know who is an extreme cocktail enthusiast.  We love it when people we feature are on the ball!
As an entree, Peachy ordered the scallops, oxtail and cauliflower which were delicate in texture but robust in flavor.  Pure perfection, we strategically air this at lunch hour to get you to fire up your phone and make your dinner reservation for tonight.  And want to hear how it got its name?  From a Beatles song...and you know who took a course on The Beatles with her pal Lucy at Miss Porter's-thank you John Eells.  You absolutely cannot miss Desmond's as it is right across the street from Bloomingdale's.  It might be even better than shopping!  Whom You Know Highly Recommends Desmond's for Terrific Takeout.
