Terrific Takeout: Skylight Diner

Now that is a baked stuffed shrimp that you want to befriend, and your stomach even more so!
There are diners, and then there is Skylight Diner.
Skylight is one of the best diners we have ever tried, and that is not only because Teddy, brother of owner George, is well-versed in everything Brian Leetch, which would always be a good topic to discuss with Peachy. It is conveniently not far from MSG so all Rangers: we do suggest you go there.  We were pleased to meet the stuffed shrimp with crabmeat, which were a total knockout. Not every diner can make this a pleasing dish!
Then came the salad the Rangers should eat for extra fuel to win the Stanley Cup this year...it has been too long since 1994.
The current salad to beat is the Popeye Salad All the Way by Skylight-the best salad we have had in recent times. You can get the Popeye alone, but All the Way boasts tremendously flavorful grilled chicken breast as well and you want that! The definition of a Popeye salad is of course mounds of fresh spinach leaves, which we really liked in an overmarketed salad era of iceberg and romaine, and this tremendous vegetable is joined by crumbled bacon, sliced egg, tomato, marinated artichoke hearts, mushrooms and seasoned croutons.
Just fantastic!
Also you should know they don't have old boring breadsticks.  Even the breadsticks were fresh and crunchy and even better, onion-flavored.
We also tried the Mini Louisiana Crabcake, which hit the spot.
We've never had Creole Tartar sauce before, and we think you'll like it too.
