Maui Mokka Peaberry Coffee by Kope Kapea Highly Recommended by Whom You Know!!!
Kopa Kapea is Hawaiian for coffee, which is home for incredible Meahuna coffee beans. Their coffee beans are grown, harvested, roasted, packaged and labeled right in the USA too! Though they have ten different delicious varieties, I personally love the Maui Mokka Peaberry. This distinguished coffee is just 2% of the Mokka crop! It is a bold coffee that has chocolate tones to it, which goes really well with delicious Hawaiian chocolate that I was fortunate to try recently! Chocolate and coffee are one of my favorite combinations, even if it is early in the morning! These coffee beans are incredibly fresh and have a wonderful aroma that fills the air while it's brewing. I am hooked on Meahuna Maui Mokka Peaberry coffee!
The peaberry is a rarity in the world of coffee beans. Usually when coffee beans develop inside the coffee cherry, they grow as two halves of one bean. Sometimes, though, only one of the two parts gets fertilized, and this results in a rounder, pea-shaped bean, instead of a typical, flat coffee bean. About 5% of all coffee beans around the world are peaberry beans, and when it comes to the Mokka variety of coffee grown in Hawaii, that number shrinks to 2%! So, the Meahuna Mokka Peaberry coffee is very rare, and a true treat! The shape of the bean affects the way it roasts, and as a result, peaberry beans generally yield a much richer, fuller flavor that regular coffee beans. Meahuna's Mokka Peaberry is full of rich, decadent coffee flavor, marked by chocolatey undertones - in fact, it's so tasty, I chose to drink it black, instead of adding cream! I just wanted to taste the rich, velvety, chocolatey-coffee goodness - and boy, did I ever! This coffee would make an excellent gift for true coffee lovers - or for yourself!
Chocolate tones? You have our attention Kope Kapea! We do love stimulation we can drink and you have it right in terms of caffeine from our previous three reviews, and you accentuate your talent even more when you add one of the four food groups: chocolate. You are right: this is distinguished. And not the old, gray hair, old man type. Maui Mokka Peaberry is the kind of distinguished that means in a class by itself drinking out of fine china sitting on the best linens by Liz Barbatelli. This is one coffee that you all must try so get started and order now to get to your first sip!

American palates have been compromised by decades of over-processed coffee. They have been dominated by octane-label gas station coffee, bland-or-burn-for-profit franchise coffee, mask-the-taste flavored coffee, specialty coffee from places most wouldn’t dare visit, and now single cup convenience offering mediocrity for the price of premium.
It’s time to get what you pay for. Kope Kapea LLC has created a brand of coffee called MEAHUNA (may-ah-WHO-nah), the Hawaiian word for “secret.” Their cherry-picked collection of single-origin coffees will reinvigorate your palate.
Their artisan roaster has perfected roasting profiles to offer flavor signatures with depth: layered textures, undertones, and hints of natural/organic influences. All offerings are single origin, a single varietal from single plantations.
The MEAHUNA brand includes nine coffees from Hawaii and Jamaica Blue Mountain. Four of them are Peaberry, the bolder nuttier single bean per shade-grown cherry, typically only 3% of the crop. Two are from Kona. The others are from Maui and Kauai, with one a chemical-free 99.9% Decaf. All beans are graded and certified by either the Hawaii Department of Agriculture or the Coffee Board of Jamaica.
The product line (excluding JBM) is grown and harvested in the United States. All varietals are roasted, packaged and labeled locally to ensure peak freshness. The only process performed outside of the USA is decaffeination, which happens in Canada. The grower first sends beans to British Columbia, and then shipped back to Hawaii after the Swiss Water Process is complete.
