NIGHTLIGHT IN LONDON: THE GIVING BACK FOUNDATION, MEERA GANDHI AND EMRE ERTURK HOST BOOK LAUNCH AND AUCTION FOR CHARITY IN LONDON MAY 25, 2012
Humanitarian Mover and Shaker Meera Gandhi's
new book entitled “Giving Back” was launched May 25, 2012 at a book signing
and auction held at her London residence and outside garden in Mayfair and it was a smashing success!

Meera Gandhi, CEO and
Founder of the Giving Back Foundation and Emre Erturk, New York/Istanbul artist and designer, hosted
the event attended by over 200 guests. 100 percent of the proceeds from the launch will go to the
Giving Back Foundation, its associated charities, and Tiger Time charity. A live auction, including a
designer hand bag from Emre Erturk that sold for 20,000 gbp, and valuable artwork, was conducted by
Arne Everwijn of Christies.
Those in attendance included The Honorable Cherie Blair, who spoke about Meera Gandhi’s c
haritable activities for the Giving Back Foundation. Mrs. Blair wrote the foreword to the new
coffee-table book. Others at the launch were actress Abi Titmuss; fashion designer Elizabeth Emanuel,
who designed the famous wedding dress of Diana, Princess of Wales; philanthropist Ninjun Cloak of
Instanbul and artist David Shepherd, CBE, whose Tiger Time charity endeavors to prevent the extinction
of the iconic tiger.
The “Giving Back” book celebrates those around the world who inspire Meera Gandhi for their unique
ways of giving back to humanity. Among those featured in the book are Mother Teresa and her Asha
Daan; The Eleanor Roosevelt Center at Val Kill, NY; the American Friends of the Foundation of Prince
William and Prince Harry; The Royal National Institute of the Deaf; Cherie Blair Foundation; Bono and his f
ight for Aids in Africa; Irish singer Ronan Tynan and Alzheimer’s Disease; Irish interior designer Clodagh
and Thorntree, Africa; Kerry Kennedy and her brother Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. for their human rights and
environmental activities; Lord Loomba and the Loomba Fund for Widows; Steven Rockefeller/Grameen a
nd many more. The book was launched earlier this year in India, China, Turkey and the United States.

The Giving Back Foundation, with operations in London, Hong Kong, New York and Mumbai, was
established in 2010 as a not-for-profit organization. Its beneficiaries are carefully selected existing
charities and individuals from around the world, with special emphasis on women and children in need.
Its motto is, “We are to the universe only as much as we give back to it.”
