BBC Home Entertainment Hits One Out of the Park with the Absolutely Fabulous 20th Anniversary Specials, Given Whom You Know's Highest Recommendation-Here's What We Think of Episode Two Our Coverage Sponsored by Paul Mayer Attitudes
Paul Mayer's luxuriously, comfortable designs keep women coming back for multiple -- even dozens -- of pairs. Classic, yet contemporary and always comfortable, his shoes are an addiction that we highly recommend because they too are ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS.
A staple of the Paul Mayer collection is the simple ballet-flat, with true ballerina construction for a perfect fit that comes in a variety of colors and materials. A cult favorite is the cozy, a flat with lavender-scent infused soles adding style and fragrance to collector's closets as Paul's designs emerge in sophisticated design incarnations season after season in the most incredible hues, textures and modern innovations in luxury footwear because we know firsthand how incredibly brilliant he is. Here are two recent hot numbers from the Paul Mayer hit parade:
Mayer founded the brand in 2004 with partner, Jeff Levy. All shoes in the line are manufactured in Spain’s Valencia region, along the Mediterranean coast by a skilled staff of 12 artisans. They craft each pair of shoes with an old-world attention to detail that includes in-house embroidery, quilting and stitching as well as custom tanned leather. This allows the brand to cater to each retailer’s specific demands in with timely and consistent alacrity, with orders completed in an unheard-of 3 to 5 weeks.
In 2011, Paul Mayer stepped out into Manhattan's Upper East Side with a new attitude, opening his flagship store at 1388 Third Avenue. The store which cleverly resembles a pink and black shoebox offers up to 150 shoe styles, including his popular ballerinas, exclusive designs and more. As an added bonus, shoppers have the chance of running into the designer, himself. Paul's sage shopping advice and style eye has made him the New York shoe lover's best kept secret. When not in New York, Paul can be found traveling to his myriad of stores across the country meeting his loyal clientele or vacationing in his favorite spot, the Royal Hawaiian on Waikiki Beach.

Absolutely Fabulous, where have you been all our lives? Sweet Dreams ARE made of these, and Eddy and Patsy are the only external PR people we EVER would hire. In this smashing 20th Anniversary Special by BBC Home Entertainment they will have you roll-on-the-floor laughing, and that is saying something for those from the country with a stiff upper lip. And we hope Eddy and Patsy themselves are reading us-and to entice them, we’d encourage a look at some Stella video we did far before we ever heard of them:
If you’ve never seen this show, it is a bit like an I Love Lucy comedy with a fashionable modern twist but there’s no Lucy and Ethel: it is all Eddy and Patsy and make no mistake: it is all-Brit in London. All Peachy Deegan can say is that she now wants to see the last 20 years that she’s missed and on the next special Eddy and Patsy do, we want them to come to Manhattan and hang out with Peachy because we think they are so totally still fresh and happening. And that’s an authentic opinion since we’ve never seen them other than these three episodes! We are dying to meet you plus we have champagne here for you to drink and even better, the Peachy Deegan cocktail of course!
Speed, speed, speed Patsy! We are right there with you Eddy-we like things to be on schedule and progressing. Even if we are going to the spa (you must try La Prairie at The Ritz-perhaps that can be part of our upcoming Eddy and Patsy take Manhattan episode). You’re going to cry when you see they take car service for about 50 meters to the spa….or possibly it’s less than that. We’re glad to see they read Vogue, and we’re glad we’ve avoided fish pedicures when we see what can happen. Come on, don’t you want to see who the Diamond-Studded whores of the Oligarchs are? Don’t you want to know who has look that is a comb over from a nose hair? Watch this! Our esteemed panel says:
The second episode of the Absolutely Fabulous 20th Anniversary Special was just as funny as the first! In this episode, called "Job," Edina and Patsy try to show Saffron they can hold down a job. Just knowing the characters, you can see how this episode would be funny already! Edina and Patsy decide they will represent the French star Jeanne Durand in a concert performance. But of course, things do not go as planned! I do not want to give away all the details and ruin all the fun. Just trust me that you will love this episode! You won't be able to stop laughing. It is pure and classic AbFab at its best! And once you finish, you will want to hit play immediately for the next episode on the DVD!
If you are looking for a good belly laugh, look no further than the job episode. They did a wonderful job spoofing celebrities, PR, and hype in general. My favorite character had to be Bubble. She tried so hard to keep the ship from sinking. I absolutely loved the physical comedy of the episode as well. Without giving much more away, I know this episode made my night. I haven't laughed as hard as I had watching this episode in a long time. The BBC Home Entertainment group did a wonderful job with bringing back this series. I can't wait to watch more.
Absolutely Fabulous is back with three episodes to celebrate their 20th anniversary. The “Job” episode launches into its witty humor making fun of the ladies. Sitting at the salon with their headsets on they are oblivious to the mockery happening. Moving right along to the magazine, Patsy displays her true fabulousness. She passes off her work onto her intern while snorting and drinking the day away. Eddy in the meantime directs her crazy assistant Bubbles. With a truly comedic performance, Bubbles steals the show. On with their day of leisure, they head to a restaurant to drink champagne and people watch. After picking up a new client at lunch, the ladies work on a pr plan and vocal tour. With Twitter and Bubble on their side they actually might pull it off. You will have to watch and see.
Edina. Patsy. Saffy. The "Absolutely Fabulous" women are back in action. After first hitting the scene in 1992, Ab Fab ran for five series (and a few one-time specials). In "Job" which aired in February of 2012, the girls are up to their usual antics. In this episode, Edina wonders if she's still got "it" in the PR world and with her daughter Saffy (their relationship is a tad rocky). Edina comes upon a new client, French star Jeanne Durand. Could signing her on as a client solve all of Edina's problems? Or the start of more? When Patsy and Edina finally meet Jeanne Durand, Ms. Durand informs them that she would like to be booked at London's Royal Albert Hall for a singing engagement. What ensues is, of course, hilarious! Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley are brilliant actors with impeccable comedic timing. "Job" is not to be missed. BBC Home Entertainment puts out the Ab Fab shows...get yourself a dvd and quickly!

They’re back, darlings. BBC
Home Entertainment is absolutely thrilled to bring Absolutely Fabulous: 20th Anniversary
Specials to DVD on September 11, 2012. International comedy sensations Jennifer Saunders (
French & Saunders) and Joanna Lumley (The Corpse Bride) return to their celebrated roles
as Edina Monsoon and Patsy Stone in three all-new specials, written by Jennifer Saunders.
Twenty years since we first met them, the ladies are a tiny bit older, none the wiser, but
definitely still Absolutely Fabulous.
The original fashionistas, PR rep Eddy and best friend/enabler Patsy, were often found at the
bottom of a champagne bottle – and not much has changed. Eddy’s daughter Saffron (Julia
Sawalha, Cranford) is still hard-working and largely ignored. Eddy’s mother (June Whitfield,
Doctor Who) is still around, and still unwanted. Bubble (Jane Horrocks, Arthur Christmas),
Eddy’s colorful assistant, is still… well, Bubble. In the first of the new specials, there’s a
homecoming for one of the ladies who has been “away” for quite some time. She returns with
her new, slightly scary best friend in tow, with wide reaching ramifications- including forcing a
certain person to own up to her real age… if she can still remember what it is. In the second
special, Eddy sets her sights on changing the career of a very big fish indeed; and in the final
special, Eddy and Patsy play their own very special part in the London 2012 Olympics.
Jennifer Saunders won the 2012 BAFTA TV Award for Female Performance in a Comedy
Program for her performance as Edina Monsoon. The Absolutely Fabulous 20th Anniversary
specials premiered simultaneously on BBC AMERICA and Logo in the US starting in January
2012, and on Vision in Canada in June 2012. Absolutely Fabulous is a Saunders and French
production for BBC, co-produced by BBC AMERICA and Logo.
All previous seasons of Absolutely Fabulous are available from BBC Home Entertainment, sold
individually or all together in the Absolutely Fabulous: Absolutely Everything collection.
