Diana Taylor and Jean Shafiroff
You know anything boys can do, girls can do better! Whom You Know has always been about equality among the sexes and women having every chance that men have in life, and yesterday we were honored to attend The New York Women’s Foundation's luncheon where we saw many old friends and met many new ones, and they all work together to achieve the common goal of supporting this amazing organization. It is a crosscultural alliance of women catalyzing partnerships and leveraging human and financial capital to achieve sustained economic security and justice for women and girls. We were pleased to see Diana Taylor and hear her speak along with a Board member from years past. The people in this organization really are the venture capitalists of philanthropy...everyone reading knows that Diana is Mayor Bloomberg's better half. The luncheon was hugely successful in attendance as it was sold out far in advance and the women there are people that truly make a difference in our world and set an example for others to follow.

Mission Statement
The New York Women’s Foundation is a voice for women and a force for change. We are a cross-cultural alliance of women catalyzing partnerships and leveraging human and financial capital to achieve sustained economic security and justice for women and girls. With fierce determination, we mobilize hearts, minds and resources to create an equitable and just future for women, families and communities in New York City.
Who We Are: Women Helping Women
At The New York Women’s Foundation®, we work together to transform the conditions of poverty and provide for economic security, advocate for anti-violence and safety issues, as well as health, sexual rights and reproductive justice all helping tobuild a city where women, families and communities thrive through shared power and sustained justice and security.
Our work is rooted in a tradition of educating and engaging women of all means about the power of our collective action as activist philanthropists. We know that we can have a greater impact when we work together, leveraging our financial and intellectual resources for individuals and families to empower themselves to affect long-term systemic change. It is this singular commitment of women helping women that sets the New York Women’s Foundation apart from more traditional philanthropic organizations locally and nationally.
At the Foundation, you will find women and men from all walks of life. Our board of directors, staff and committed volunteers are a diverse and remarkable team working toward common goals. The Foundation’s leadership includes women of different ages, ethnic origins, economic and social backgrounds who bring with them a wealth of perspective and skills. Our supporters are generous with their time, resources and ideas, actively working to improve the lives of women, girls, their families and communities in New York City.
