Traditional Scotch Eggs with sixpoint ipa mustard sauce and sweet quince is a clearcut winner as a starter at newcomer Draught 55, which clearly is one of the hottest spots around since its December 2012 opening. We would expect nothing less from an Irishwoman that pursues excellence and in this case we are talking about Katrina McNamee from Country Tyrone, one of the 5 owners of Draught 55. The other 4 are American men working on Wall Street (God help her.) Peachy Deegan would not have ordered these fantastic eggs without her suggestion and we absolutely loved them.
After spending ten years in Manhattan working at other venues, Katrina is clearly prepared and in tandem with Executive Chef Christie Flanagan we are seeing great things. Though some people might go to Draught 55 for their craft beer, we are going for their cuisine. These eggs are j
ust beautiful, and they did not last long. Terrific flavor! We sense that the Easter Bunny will be preferring THESE.
Mixed Green Salad with grape tomatoes, red onion and maple-balsamic vinaigrette on the side just like we asked for was not only delicious but a nutritious hit.

an Seared Atlantic Salmon served over smoked sweet tomato ragu and swiss chard. It was terrifically fresh and the creative combination of colors and flavors set this apart.
While she was waiting for it to be wrapped up, Peachy Deegan indulged in Boulder Obovoid Oak Aged glass - Made in Colorado (8% alcohol; 4.2% is Guinness). Though we clearly support American-made products of excellence, you're never going to be able to get Peachy Deegan to say there's any substitute for Guinness!
