Everyone we feature comes from a lot of research beforehand, usually. You can count on the fact that you're quite extraordinary if you are an exception to the rule. Peachy Deegan was walking down M Street in Georgetown when she came upon this star of a place.
We don't understand the cupcake phenomenon that has become prevalent; cupcakes are okay. But PIE is superior. And we love tradition.
Since 2010, Alli, Erin, and Catherine Blakely are the enterprising sisters behind the excellence we encountered, and they are putting pie on the American map again. They make pies in any size it seems. Remember baseball, hotdogs, apple pie and Chevrolet?
Not only do they do apple pie, but that do it even with more panache and style: please meet the Apple Sour Cream Crunch. Every bite had fantastic flavor and texture and the unexpected creaminess was a delight. That is one generous slice! Perfect with your coffee in the morning or for dessert at night.
Alli taught us a new flavor: Jumbleberry. You want to know this one as it's simply tops. Jumbleberry: strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries! What could be better as we go into summer with these seasonal fruits, and note that the absolutely killer Jumbleberry Pie, the piece de resistance bien sur, is cooked in a blackberry liqueur further highlighting this tremendous flavor.
Warning: You will not be able to stop at one piece!

And, pie can be your dinner as well. We have NEVER had a chicken pot pie as delicious and flavorful as this one:
The chicken chunks were so inviting in a party of peas and carrots and heartwarming spices. And we loved the crust-so many pies have disappointing crusts but not these. The bottom line is eating these pies makes you feel GOOD, and they are each made with genuine care and pride which you will taste in every bite.
They get the details too. Check out the chicken on the chicken pot pie!
We are crying our eyes out that we can't find anything this great in Manhattan.
So, we will have to visit them again...
