DC2NY BECOMES BESTBUS! WHOM YOU KNOW SAYS, THAT'S BECAUSE THEY ARE! New markets for BestBus Coming Soon will include Manassas, VA; Silver Spring, MD and Baltimore, MD in addition to the markets and stops served by DC2NY in the District of Columbia, Virginia, New York and Delaware.
Whom You Know has worked with DC2NY many times over the past few years, and we thought their big news was that their bus stop changed, which it has in New York. In New York, it is now on 8th Avenue between 39th and 40th street, and these pictures that Peachy took reflect that location. But not only do they have a stop that's new to us, but also they changed their name, and that's new to everyone. DC2NY, the upscale intercity bus service which has served the Washington, DC and New York City market since 2007, is launching a new brand and new service in a variety of northeast markets. Rather than continue the DC2NY brand which has obvious geographic limitations, the new brand will carry the name BestBus. Note that BestBus is one word!
Once the only bus service to feature wi-fi access on its buses, DC2NY, locally owned in Washington, DC, has seen its service niche fill up with strong competition from big national and international brands. DC2NY began serving Washington customers 10 months before Boltbus and 12 months before Megabus and was the first company to offer bottled water to every customer, wireless access to the internet, and movies on a customer-demand basis.
The new brand, BestBus, signals the company’s owners’ commitment to expanded new service benchmarks, new markets, new equipment and coaches as well as their continued commitment to putting customers on safe, clean, convenient and fully maintained newer coaches. BestBus is powered by Academy Bus, the largest privately owned and operated transportation company in the US which has been serving the Northeast region for over 40 years.
The BestBus fleet will be using Academy’s brand new 2013 Van Hool coaches made in Belgium. Featuring silver and black livery, the new Van Hool coaches make an immediate distinctive impression with customers while the interior highlights include seating for 55, reclining seats with foot rests, multiple flat screen video monitors with a DVD player, power outlets, complete with USB charging for electronics at every seat, clean lavatories and complimentary Wi-Fi internet access.
New markets for BestBus coming soon will include Manassas, VA; Silver Spring, MD and Baltimore, MD in addition to the markets and stops served by DC2NY in the District of Columbia, Virginia, New York and Delaware. With the addition of a Manassas park & ride stop in Virginia, weekend-only service in Virginia will soon expand to daily service between Manassas, the Vienna/Fairfax-GMU and the Franconia/Springfield Metro Stops in Virginia and New York City while the Silver Spring and Baltimore Maryland stops will provide service to New York on a daily basis as well.
Today DC2NY celebrates nearly 7 years serving hundreds of thousands of value minded loyal customers -- whether they are students, residents of Washington’s Dupont Circle neighborhoods or employees from embassies or Capitol Hill offices. Laptops, smartphones and luggage in hand they arrive to make their way to New York City. On the other end, New Yorkers make their way from mid-town Manhattan past Penn Station, Macy’s Herald Square, the fashion district and Times Square to get on DC2NY’s upscale buses bound for stops in Washington, DC, Maryland or Virginia.
Under the BestBus flag the company expands to a total of ten stops coming soon -- one in New York, two in the Washington, DC, three in Virginia and two in the Delaware Beach towns of Rehoboth and Dewey Beach and two in Maryland. Asi Ohana and Richard Green inaugurated their DC-based DC2NY bus service between the nation’s capital and New York City with the promise of clean, affordable, comfortable and convenient bus travel for a new generation of travelers. BestBus will keep that promise.
