In case you already can't wait for next year's 4th of July like Peachy Deegan, here's a patriotic thriller!
Dick Wolf’s first novel, The Intercept, is just as fantastic as you would expect from the creator of Law & Order. It keeps you engaged and on the edge of your seat throughout! It was such a page-turner, I read the last 180 pages in one afternoon! The Intercept starts with every traveler’s worst fear: an attempted high-jacking on a transatlantic flight (Non-Stop! Liam!). From there, we’re given a very realistic inside view of the innerworkings of police, intelligence and anti-terror units in New York City through the eyes of Jeremy Fisk and Krina Gersten. Nothing seems unrealistic in this post 9-11 world, where those who want to destroy the American way of life will stop at nothing. And all you want throughout is for the good guys to come out on top! A patriotic thriller, set in New York City… what could be better?!?! This is definitely a must-read!

Everyone loves a good thriller, and happily for readers, Law & Order creator Dick Wolf has come through with an exciting, suspenseful, and yes, thrilling, debut novel, The Intercept. The novel takes us into the world of NYPD detective Jeremy Fisk, who is assigned to the Intelligence Division, which is, for all intents and purposes, a mini-CIA, focused on preventing terrorism in New York City. Several years after Osama bin Laden's death, New York City is preparing for their annual July Fourth celebration, which will this year include the dedication of the Freedom Tower. Days before the holiday weekend, five passengers and a flight attended thwart an attempted hijacker on a flight from Sweden to Newark. Of course, Fisk is brought in as part of the investigative team, and he soon suspects that the hijacker may have been a diversion in order to steer attention away from a larger plot. His suspicion grows when he learns that a Saudi Arabian passenger who shares tribal ties with both bin Laden and the attempted hijacker has slipped under the radar and into the streets of New York City. From that moment, the race is on as Fisk and his team attempt to find the passenger and uncover the plot before the celebratory weekend turns into a major terrorist attack. Intense, captivating, and full of interesting and unexpected twists and turns, The Intercept is sure to keep readers eagerly turning pages from start to finish. Two thumbs up from this panelist!

Bad things happen. In this addictive plot, written by Dick Wolf, detective Jeremy Fisk, NYC, races page after page to the gasping finale. You may know the name Dick Wolf, but Detective Fisk makes his debut in The Intercept. Published by Harper Collins, under the imprint of William Morrow, The Intercept grabs you and tosses you onto a speeding roller coaster ride of intrigue. Detail, technology and guts drive this mind boggling case of terrorism let loose in post 9/11 New York City. Familiar names from headlines ground the drama and construct the authenticity that rings true in scene after scene. Locations described in intimate detail will weave more NYC magic and help us navigate through the spy plot. Fisk will save the day, with collateral damage strewn in the wake of the virus that is terrorism.

First of all I am so impressed with Dick’s Wolf first novel “The Intercept”. I always feel that plots that are realistic and intertwined with real news themes of our times are the scariest. Immersed in the terrorist plots of 9/11, Wolf brings terror and suspense to a whole new playing field. As NYPD Detective Jeremey Fisk and his partner Krina Gersten conclude that a new terrorist plot is planned for the One World Trade Center’s Ground Zero, let the games begin. From many twists to many devastating blows, you cannot help but keep reading as your knuckles turn white. So realistic and so believable, the plot never tires or slows down. So get comfortable and enjoy the ride. Charge up your ipad because there is no putting this one down until the very end…

Dick Wolf:

Dick Wolf, the celebrated creator of the Law & Order television franchise, makes his literary debut with The Intercept, a taut, driving thriller reminiscent of the classic The Day of the Jackal.

Days before the July Fourth holiday and the dedication of One World Trade Center at Ground Zero, an incident aboard a commercial jet reminds everyone involved that vigilance saves lives.

But New York Police detective Jeremy Fisk—from the department’s Intelligence Division, a well-funded anti-terror unit modeled upon the CIA—suspects that the event is a warning sign that another, potentially more extraordinary scheme has been set in motion. So when a passenger from the same plane disappears into the crowds of Manhattan, it’s up to Fisk and his partner Krina Gersten to find him before the celebrations begin... And time is running out.
