"Tomorrow New York is going to be here. And we're going to rebuild, and we're going to be stronger than we were before... I want the people of New York to be an example to the rest of the country, and the rest of the world, that terrorism can't stop us."
-Rudy Giuliani
We at Whom You Know adore Rudy. Tomorrow is now here! Terrorism did not stop Silverstein Properties, the Port Authority, all of the workers on this site, and it certainly does not stop Marcus Robinson.
"I can hear you, the rest of the world hears you. And the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon."
-President George W. Bush 9/14/01
We were honored to cover this amazing event for Tourism Ireland (note our color choice in font), and it was our first trip to 4 World Trade Center ever. The meaning that this property has is tremendous for everyone involved, everyone that knew someone that passed on 9/11 and for those that were down there when it happened. Peachy Deegan is included in this last group. Since she personally saw both towers fall when walking up Broadway on 9/11/01, she is particularly excited to see these buildings go up. You do not need to be American to appreciate the significance of this rebuilding, and we know that many nations had citizens in the World Trade Center on 9/11/01 and victimized by the Attacks on America that day.
"A great people has been moved to defend a great nation. Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shattered steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve. America was targeted for attack because we're the brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity in the world. And no one will keep that light from shining. Today, our nation saw evil, the very worst of human nature. And we responded with the best of America — with the daring of our rescue workers, with the caring for strangers and neighbors who came to give blood and help in any way they could."
-President George W. Bush 9/11/01 Address to the Nation
We think President Bush is brilliant. Both of them.
Whom You Know previously covered the 9/11 memorial:
In effect, these buildings are living memorials. We believe the best way to honor those that passed is to let the rest of the world know that America is back. And Marcus Robinson has documented this rising with excellence.
We are working on the review of his documentary now, but in the meantime, put this airtime in big red letters in pen on your schedule: The History Channel, 9/11/14, 6pm Eastern. You need to see this! Be there.
We believe 4 World Trade Center goes to 72 floors...
...this event was on 68. We are sure that this is even better than 72 because of Jaromir Jagr. If you read the Sports Illustrated article on him when we believe he was a rookie, he wears this number to honor what happened in 1968 in the Czech Republic and he is a proponent of capitalism (he kept a picture of Reagan in his schoolbook when he was a boy.)
His daughter Stephanie, Greg Franzese, and his wife Kim
We were pleased to meet some of the stars of the show-Marcus's film and the real site!
James Brady, Richie Christie, Kevin Murphy, Michael O'Reilly (the serious one), Tom Hickey (the funny one) and Jerry Soberanos
You will understand the parenthesis when you see the film; all of them worked hard on this site.
Listen to Alison Metcalfe, Executive Vice President, United States and Canada, Tourism Ireland:
Listen to Luke Parker Bowles, Vice Chairman of British Academy of Film and Television Arts:
And definitely listen to Marcus! (If Peachy was way taller this would be in one piece)

Congratulations Marcus on your amazing work, and we'll all raise a glass to everyone that worked hard on these buildings and Marcus's film which celebrate this momentous rebuilding! We are working with the History Channel on reviewing this film, so stay tuned.
Marcus's facebook page tells us:
Marcus Robinson is an artist specializing in urban transformation and architecture. He creates his work through photography, film and painting.
His current project is called REBUILDING. This project is an artistic and spiritual (non-religious) exploration of the rebuilding of the World Trade Center.
Marcus is making a feature length film chronicling the rebuild and has been personally shooting the footage on 35 mm film since the very start of construction in 2006. The vision of the film is to take the viewer on an artistic and totally engaging experimental journey. (A virtual hallucinogenic drug you could say ..!)
If it wasn't enough to shoot an entire film alone ...
Marcus is also creating an extensive collection of paintings, drawings and prints. The collection features the many trades on site from the groundwork and laying of the foundations, to the hovering heights of the ironworkers way above the city skyline. Many of the artworks are painted or drawn directly on the World Trade Center site, and reach massive proportions of 16 x 8 feet.
Steaming ahead with unwavering focus, a passionate vision and total determination, Marcus Robinson is on a mission to create a revolutionary body of work from our time for generations to come.
We were also pleased to meet and see in addition to those pictured above:
Alison Metcalfe and everyone at Tourism Ireland (maybe bring Rory next time?)
Lynn S. Gardiner and everyone at The History Channel
Dara McQuillan of Silverstein Properties
Luke Parker Bowels of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts
Christopher Koch, CAS
Ronan Watters
Joyce Towbin Cashan
Dan Schaefer
Linda Kahn
Lloyd Cole
Erika Koop-Philbin
...and everyone that did not have business cards!
This was one of the best events we have ever been to with amazingly bright and nice people, consistent with all of our other Ireland experiences. That list is long.
The views are incomparably gorgeous!
Thank you to Tourism Ireland, who invited us to cover the event.
There were too many pictures of the view we took to publish in this post, so look for those in upcoming posts!
Also, previously on Whom You Know in our Entrepreneur Barbie feature, in our fictional story we had Barbie set up her offices here of her fictitious hedge fund:
We still believe she can do it.
