The best part of Boston College is getting in and being there. The worst thing about Boston College is leaving. Can you tell who was a tour guide for four years? Guess who didn't want to leave. The motto at Boston College comes from the Iliad and is "Ever to Excel"; the motto of Whom You Know is essentially the same thing because Peachy would like to live in a world of excellence and she thinks you would too. We know Billy Bishop, owner of Point Break, because he also is a BC Eagle. He is one of a few people like Dr. Garo Nazarian that we knew before we ever started Whom You Know, so you can feel even better about our endorsement since we've gone to Point Break so long, we went to it when it was called Nation's...
Please meet the festive snowman who will greet you outside. No, that's not Billy.
Point Break is the closest thing you will find to a beach in Midtown Manhattan; you can dock your surfboard at Point Break while you enjoy fantastic cuisine that far supersedes other pubs, complete with Executive Chef Dennis. How many pubs can you name that have a serious Executive Chef? Not too many in our estimation. You know that already if you read our 2013 review:
and our 2014 return:
One requirement of our takeout column is the green salad, and the Cobb Salad is pure excellence right down to the arrangement.
We love that they listen and put the dressing on the side (ranch) and they are so detail oriented, they present the egg separately - the white from the yolk. Lettuce, grilled chicken, bacon, tomatoes, egg and gorgonzola team up to yield a winning plate and a salad that could be a meal in itself. But we want to show you other aspects of Point Break cuisine too:
Meet the Chicken Teriyaki Dumplings! We tried them steamed, though they are also available fried.
These are just delicious and an ideal finger food if you are sitting at the bar.
Point Break excels in burgers especially and we torture you at lunchtime on purpose. Because we are bullish (as opposed to bearish, and if you don't know what we're talking about consult your broker or better yet, learn Wall Street for yourself!) on Point Break, we decided on the Bull Burger: 60% Brisket Chuck, 10% Hangar Steak and 30% Brisket adds up to 100% sublime on your tastebuds. It arrived medium, exactly as ordered. The burger is 10 oz and is joined by chili, bacon, cheddar cheese and an egg!
Please keep your computer screen clean everyone (don't drool!) and go see Billy!
You KNOW Point Break is totally Terrific Takeout!
