Some are just superior, and we're proud to say the obviously superior Primola has been a Peachy's Pick Since 2012.
It recently was included in our best restaurants list for 2018:
We had to dig deep to find that picture with Giuliano! You are super lucky if you have the chance for a picture with him as he is a out-of-the-spotlight kind of guy, so we will brag about him for him because he continues to earn it!
From the moment you walk in the door of Primola, you can expect top-notch everything from the water to the perfect lemon, vertically sliced in quarters just like we want it, and fantastic bread, cheese, meat and raw veggies. Not everywhere does this the minute you walk in but Primola does.
Primola was last featured on Whom You Know in 2017:
We began with a salad special: Asparagus Salad, which is brilliant in both color and nutrition. Fabulously fresh tomatoes encircle the asparagus, cut fashionably on the diagonal, and hearts of palm and cannellini beans come to the party on a plate that smells garden fresh and tastes exactly that way.
At first glance doesn't this look like dessert?
That is a brilliant trick, getting a vegetable/cheese course to look like a sweet conclusion to a meal and is definitely a restaurant talent.
Another special we indulged in was the BURRATA. Burrata is one of the magic words if you want to motivate Peachy in any manner. Imported from Italy, this blissful burrata is pleasantly perched upon fresh basil, incredibly flavorful roasted red peppers, and avocado. Every bite exudes life in the dead of winter.
Oh how we love shrimp! Not just because Peachy can look them in the eye because of her towering height, but also because we love to delicately devour them in the company of Black and White Taglierini along with fresh tomato and seppia (squid). This dish is one of the biggest menu hits at Primola and if you are a smart cookie, you will march yourself over to second avenue and eat it now, snowstorm or not.
Remember, we never edit pictures.
You are as amazing at dinner as Giuliano is, or you are not.
Every bite will make you feel closer to God.
Another beacon of brilliance in Primola Pasta is the Linguine alla vongole e cozze. That is linguine with clam sauce for everyone that is not fluent in Italian menus! The sensational scent this exudes is absolutely embraced by garlic lovers like Peachy, and the clams are amazingly fresh and and the linguine is perfectly al dente. You know we publish at dinner time to torture you nicely into turning this into your dinner too!
We love steakhouses, and we love when the very best restaurants make us feel like they are a steakhouse when they are not by name. Meet half and half Filet Mignon, Peachy Deegan's new best friend. The gorgeous visual contrast of the two sauces is only trumped in attractiveness by the taste of the juicy splendor. Answering whether you like the Filet more in the aged gorgonzola sauce or the barolo sauce is one of life's most impossible questions. They are both simply smashing and the epitome of elegant winter comfort food.
It was perfectly medium-rare, as ordered.
If you are more in the mood for a fish dish, may we suggest the Swordfish, which is sourced from the Atlantic and enhanced by the wonders of white wine, olive oil and lemon juice.
It arrives on Monday and has the right dusting of bread crumbs to make this totally terrific. It is generous in size and the steak of the sea is a dinner celebration.
Chocolate mousse is the perfect conclusion.
Primola continues to be Highly Recommended by Whom You Know.
Giuliano is very old school and we have yet to convince him to have a website or Twitter but maybe someday!
