TASTY TIDBITS: Le Cirque


Le Cirque made Peachy Deegan want to fly off the trapeze with applause! She lunched here today with Clara (see shoe article below)during Restaurant Week and they loved the Prix Fixe menu. Clara started with a squash flavored bisque while Peachy had the gulf shrimp. They knew right from the appetizer that Le Cirque had them at hello. Since Peachy and Clara are so on the same wavelength, they ordered the same thing for the rest of the meal.
The entree was sea scallops paired with grapefruit, sunchokes, toasted hazelnuts and was topped with parsley. It was fresh, flavorful, and tender. It provided the necessary energy for the below Bloomingdale's excursion.
No meal is complete without chocolate so the hot chocolate fondant was their dessert along with fabulously decadent vanilla ice cream which seemed bespoke for Clara and Peachy. Mario Wainer the Maitre'd was superbly pleasant to our crowd.
They hope to return quite soon! Possibly before the end of February 27 which marks the "fini" of restaurant week.
