Founded in 1987, Oliver Peoples began with the introduction of a retro-inspired eyewear collection created by renowned designer Larry Leight. Headquartered in Los Angeles, where Hollywood and fashion converge, Oliver Peoples now has eight retail stores located in Los Angeles [1], New York City [2], South Coast Plaza [1], Tokyo [1], and Malibu [1]. 1987
Oliver Peoples creates its own brand, Oliver Peoples Eyewear. Co-founder Larry Leight becomes Chief Designer

1989
Second Oliver Peoples boutique opened in Tokyo, Japan.

1994
Paul Smith Spectacles launched through licensing agreement with Sir Paul Smith.

1997
First in-store Oliver Peoples optical department opened in Neiman Marcus, Beverly Hills.

1998
Third Oliver Peoples boutique opens in SoHo, New York.


2000
Fourth Oliver Peoples boutique opened on Madison Avenue, New York City.


2001
Oliver Peoples launches first website
