ABOUT TANA CHUNG AND TANA JEWELRY:

Launched in Fall of 2004 in Seoul, South Korea, TANA JEWELRY will make its debut in New York City, Spring of 2009. The bespoke jewelry line takes its name from its founder and designer, Tana Chung, whose intricate and unusual compositions coupled with exceptional artisanal craftsmanship, quickly have established her as a jewelry designer to watch in the US. “TANA” means “beauty in difference” in Korean characters and is an apt description of this unique collection. Espousing a culture combination of Asian creativity and long history with American ingenuity and energy, as well as European refinement and quality, Tana Jewelry is hand-crafted with only natural gems and stones from many parts of the world. Tana’s extensive travel experiences and exposure to many cultures fueled her passion for exotic stones and artful compositions, resulting in the intriguing colors and shapes that define TANA JEWELRY. This marriage of custom elements and superb workmanship creates an effortless style that has become the trademark of TANA JEWELRY.

Born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, Tana graduated summa cum laude from the acclaimed Ewha University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degrees in Fashion and Product Design. Tana first started her career as a television show host and reporter but true to her passion for design and fashion, Tana would often style her own TV shoots, creating signature looks that defined her as a style setter and authority throughout Korea. Tana even began designing her own jewelry because she could not find what she wanted in the market and it wasn’t long before fans asked her to design custom jewelry for them too. Thus, TANA JEWELRY was born and Tana established herself as one of Korea’s most promising design prodigies by the young age of 24. TANA JEWELRY has seen significant growth and recognition since its launch in South Korea and continues to develop in innovative and exciting ways. TANA JEWELRY will debut in New York at King of Greene St. in SOHO, NYC and will be available exclusively at specialty retailers. Tana currently resides in New York City with her husband, Ethan, and their 3 puppies -- Vabean, Euno and Sasha. See www.tanachung.com.
