New York Notes: Take Me Anywhere by Marcus Goldhaber
Whom You Know has introduced Marcus Goldhaber to you as a Mover and Shaker:

and we have sold you on his first album:

so it should come as no surprise to you that we absolutely LOVED the latest album, "Take Me Anywhere."
The songs themselves reflect Goldhaber's debut as a songwriter with seven original songs, and the album has a more evolved sound overall. "Take Me Anywhere" is a tribute to his grandparents 54-year old marriage which we at Whom You Know must admit is fantastic-and Peachy Deegan herself has her grandmother and great-aunt promoting Whom You Know at the bottom of the page-see The Deegan girls out in Manhattan.
The second album released on Fallen Apple Records, "Take Me Anywhere" has a classic sound that quite literally would fit in anywhere and this follow-up album has no signs of any downfalls that sequels/sophomore projects may have. It is even stronger vocally and more interesting than the first.
Although Whom You Know rarely quotes other publications, Peachy Deegan feels it is notable to state:
In January 09, PEOPLE Magazine gave Marcus 4 Stars saying that “Goldhaber will have you giddy one moment and melancholy the next, and loving every note.” JazzTimes says Take Me Anywhere is “Wonderfully imaginative” while All About Jazz says, “It comes on like a plate full of comfort food!” Susan Frances (JazzReview.com) says, “Goldhaber has the refined stylizing of Michael Feinstein with an elegiac glide reflective of Cole Porter.”
What we have to say is that this album is beautiful, and you know that! And when we take our sugar to tea we will be listening. Whom You Know strongly endorses this album.
