Paper and H and M: THE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE PARTY 2009 FEATURING KATY PERRY

PAPER Magazine teamed up with fashion forward H&M, the brand known for offering beautiful and affordable prices, to celebrate the 12th Annual Beautiful People Issue with a live performance by cover girl Katy Perry. This was enthusiastically attended by Peachy Deegan of Whom You Know, and she could have not had more beautiful hair thank you to Stuart Hirsch. (http://www.stuarthirsch.com) Held at the legendary Hiro Ballroom of the Maritime Hotel on April 9, 2009, the event celebrated this year’s 45 new inductees including SNL’s Kirstin Wig, Abe Vagoda, The City’s Whitney Port, DJ Cassidy, MILK’s Alison Pill, and Aziz Ansari. Supplying the soundtrack for the event will be DJ Cassidy also bestowed with the Beautiful People title in 2009.

Each year, Paper Magazine selects their inductees based on not just who they are, but what they do. Always at the forefront of what’s going to be hot next, PAPER’s Beautiful People alumni from years past have included then-nobody, now geniuses Sofia Coppola, Jamie King, Charlotte Gainsberg, Chris Pine, Tina Fey, Thom Browne, Scissor Sisters, Bill Crudup, Anderson Cooper and Drea De Matteo.

This celebration of all things beautiful is a fete not to be missed and Whom You Know is so glad we knew about it and heard Katy!
