Today we are pleased to present the restaurant! Peachy Deegan loves it there.
Located in the heart of Midtown Manhattan at 10 East 60th Street at Madison Avenue, Rouge Tomate offers a locally sourced organic menu which follows a culinary and nutritional charter – making everything delicious and good for you. Under the direction of executive chef Jeremy Bearman, Rouge Tomate features modern American cuisine that naturally marries thoughtful, well-executed cuisine with authentic nutrition featuring seasonal and local ingredients. Bearman has run some of the most prestigious kitchens in the US. His experience includes executive sous chef at both db bistro moderne in New York City and L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon in Las Vegas. He was also executive chef at the Ritz Carlton’s Medici Café and Terrace in Lake Las Vegas and the opening chef for Lark Creek Steak in San Francisco, which was recognized as one of Esquire’s Best New Restaurants of 2008. Some of the highlights from his Rouge Tomate menu include Chicken and Dumplings, Duck and Pistachio Pate, English Pea Risotto, Grass Fed New York Strip and the Hazelnut Crusted Atlantic Hake.
Executive Pastry Chef James Distefano creates exquisite desserts blended with seasonal ingredients with a skillful combination of textures, flavors and savory-sweet balances. He plays up the purity of flavors inherent in each dish like the Chocolate & Banana tasting, including caramelized banana napoleon and the Roasted Banana sorbet and hot cocoa.
Under the direction of sommelier Pascaline Lepeltier, one of France’s most acclaimed sommeliers, Rouge Tomate offers a carefully selected global wine list of over 200 domestic and international bins.
The restaurant was designed by award winning architectural firm Bentel & Bentel creating a soothing urban retreat, integrating elements from the outside environment to strengthen the connection to nature using sustainable materials. The restaurant’s dramatic design includes a natural color palette, back-lit oak wood walls, walnut hard-wood floors and an open kitchen. The main dining room seats up to 150 guests and the area offers a variety of private dining areas for your special events. Whether it’s an intimate dinner for two or a cocktail party and sit-down meal for 200, Rouge Tomate can accommodate all of your wishes, including customized menus and special service requests.
A member of the Green Restaurant Association, Rouge Tomate reduces its carbon imprint by choosing ecological materials from recycled or recyclable elements; using energy-efficient equipment; giving preference to local and seasonable products; buying meats and poultry from farmers who feed animals with local plants; and selecting some wines by viticulturists who follow organic and biodynamic principles.
