TASTY TIDBITS: Update from Ed's Lobster Bar
Whom You Know and Peachy Deegan love Ed's Lobster bar! It is especially fabulous weather these days for lobster!!!
An update from Ed:
Spring is finally upon us and we are very excited about a number of things going on at the restaurant. If you've been in lately, you may have noticed that the construction on the park across the street is almost complete. We're looking forward seeing some green outside our window and eagerly anticipating seeing you all enjoying lobster rolls on the lovely new benches!
Our latest specials include Lobster Meatballs, which are featured every Wednesday as part of John's Big Night and which are quickly becoming a customer favorite. The Lobster Meatballs are like a traditional Italian meatball, but of course using lobster meat rather than pork, beef, and veal. They are very delicately fried and slowly stewed in our spicy marinara and then served over a bed of al dente linguini. (And in case you haven't joined us for a Wednesday, John's Big Night features Italian seafood specialities with a rotating menu.)
Our other daily specials are still in full effect: all-you-can-eat Mussel Mondays, $2 oyster Tuesdays, John's Big Night is every Wednesday, Friday is Lobster Fra Diavolo, Saturday is our popular Fish & Chips and Sunday features Ed's Clam Bake. We'll look forward to seeing you on any or all of these days! And when you do visit, be sure to try one of our hugely popular blueberry gimlets, made fresh with blueberry juice, Tanqueray gin, and lime.
We've also been making news on the web. Our lobster roll was recently featured on Scanwiches, a local sandwich blog (with an avid following) that features sandwich bisections seen through the lens of a scanner. Naturally, it looks just as delicious from the side!
Finally, we've joined Facebook and to jump start our page, we're offering a very special promotion for our Facebook fans, the Facebook LOBSTER FEST, which will take place on four random days over the coming month. On each of the four days of the LOBSTER FEST, our Facebook fans will recieve a message the morning of that we will be offering the LOBSTER FEST that evening. LOBSTER FEST is a one-and- one-half-pound lobster for $25 (usually $36). Don't want to miss out? Become a fan. Tell your friends! And post your photos and comments to help make our page fan-tastic! We'll be running lots of future promotions exclusively on Facebook.
We are open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. Please check our website for hours of operation. And just a reminder that we do take reservations for parties of six or more. In addition, if you are interested in private parties, catering, or private cooking lessons, please call us at 212-343-3236.
All the best,
Ed McFarland
