BIG APPLE BUSINESS: Krigler at The Plaza

Krigler was established in 1904 in Saint Petersburg - Russia and in 1917 the family fled to Berlin - Germany. Then they moved to Grasse in France, the world capital of Fragrances. Shortly after arriving on the French Riviera, the company became very succesful and was Perfumer for many celebrities. They had several stores and were sold mainly in Europe. In 1930, the daughter of the perfume-maker got married to an American man who was spending time on the French Riviera. He was a wealthy man from Pennsylvania. When both of them moved to New York, they were living inside the Plaza. She then decided to start selling the family fragrances in the Plaza.

During WWII, the company shut down and re-opened after, mainly in New York, where the perfume maker was creating at the Plaza custom-made fragrances for the privileged ones.

During the 1960's, the company was quite exclusive and only known by those happy few. In total, over 200 fragrances were created by the Five generations Perfume-maker (nez (in french)).
During the 2000's, the company started to expand its collection again, and re-developed a collection of scented candles already made during the 1950's. It was an instant success, sold in over 32 countries at 60 sales points.

The company re-opened its historical boutique at the Plaza in New York as a pledge to the legacy of the brand.

The Fragrance collection re-edited scents from the past as well as new creations.
In total, 13 fragrances are presented actually in boutiques. 9 Eau de Parfum (meaning higher extract of Fragrance, less alcohol), and 4 Eau de Toilettes.

In the collection, there are:

Subtle Orchid 10: Inspired by Paris, made with the most exquisite ingredients of white flowers, vanilla, cinnamon.

Good Fir 11: Inspired by Aspen, Colorado. It is made with Vetiver, Fir, it's more a Cologne.

Chateau Krigler 12: One of the most "known" and famous Fragrance. It's made with Almond, Rose, Cypres, it has been know for been a fragrance offered to the famous Grace Kelly when she arrived in Monte Carlo. A lot of rich & famous were also crazy about this fragrance.

Mediterranean Peach 15: Made with Peaches from the French Riviera - Saint Tropez

Sparkling Diamond 22: The First fragrance created in 1922 using nectar of Champagne, Strawberry, Coconut, Musc, it's a very unique fragrance, successful with many celebrities. This fragrance was conceived in Monte Carlo - Monaco. The Perfume maker one night earned the equivalent of $10000 at the Casino. To celebrate that with his wife, he purchased two bottle of Champagne, and placed in one of them a diamond. Unfortunately, he had to break the bottle to get the diamond out. This gave him an idea. And he created one of the most exclusive and expensive Fragrance in the world. Today, they have recreated that fragrance using Swarovski Crystal. This is the most expensive fragrance in their range.

Relaxing Verbena 29: Made with Verbena from Venice Italy. An lemon, fresh fragrance.

Juicy Jasmine 30: Made with Jasmine from North Africa, a mix of flowers and almond.

Dolce Tuberose 43: Made with Tuberose from Italy, a very trendy, elegant and Italian Riviera fragrance.

Manhattan Rose 44: A delicate and fresh scent, a mix of French Roses and American Roses.

Lovely Patchouli 55: Created in 1955, it was one of the most famous fragrances using Amber, Patchouli, Vanilla. It's a deep and sensual fragrance.

Established Cognac 66: It was created in London made with a woody cognac. The inspiration was based on a globe bar in London where there were the remains of an empty bottle of Cognac. The woody smell was so unusual that it gave the perfume maker a desire to recreate that scent.

Cozy Cedar Wood 72: A Fragrance born in India, it's actually made with Cedar from both Lebanon and India. It's an oriental scent, sensual and deep. Mixed a little bit of leather.

Pleasure Gardenia 79: A fragrance made with Gardenia from Kyoto - JAPAN, this fragrance is very feminine, fresh, floral.
