If You Give a Mom a Martini- from Lyss Stern!

Peachy Deegan already told you how great she thinks this book is (see previous "Read This") but it is always great to hear right from the author!

This is from Whom You Know's Mover and Shaker, Lyss Stern:

Hi !

This is a huge week for Julie and I and I hope to get you involved.

A couple of weeks ago our first book, an absolute labor of love, hit store shelves. The book, If You Give a Mom a Martini: 100 Ways to Find 10 Blissful Minutes for Yourself was released from RandomHouse’s Clarkson Potter Books. The initial response from the media and, more importantly, the moms of the world has been amazing! We wrote this book for all moms out there who know the value of having their personal time but know how difficult it is to find it. If brushing your teeth provides the only moment of the day when you’re truly alone and at peace, then this book is for you!

We know you love your kids, but your pre-mom self—the one who savored a glass of wine after work and exercised on her lunch break instead of shopping for baby food—is deserved. We have compiled 100 imaginative ways—including with celebrities, such as Kelly Ripa, Jill Hennessy, Joan Hart and Cynthia Rowley (to name a few)—to spend your time when you have 10 luscious minutes to yourself.

The suggestions for using your moments alone to the max run the gamut from sweet to satiric—treat yourself to a single, beautiful flower for your bedside table or play kickball with your son and punt the ball really, really far. Try surreptitiously rearranging your Netflix queue so your movies arrive before your husband’s and kids’ do. Browse for bling at Harry Winston. Or leave the kids to shop with your husband and slip into Brookstone for a rest in one of their giant massage chairs.

With any book launch it is very important to build early momentum and substantial velocity. So we’re taking a run at bestseller status! I’m really asking for your support here and ask that you help by forwarding this e-mail to family and friends and if you can, purchase a copy of the book. This book, besides being a wonderful resource for yourself, would make a great gift for any mom you know, especially with Mother’s Day a few days away ?

Thanks in advance for everything and I look forward to hearing how you’ve enjoyed the book!

Warmest,
Lyss xoxo
