Literacy Associates to Host Benefit at Tenjune to Highlight Adult Illiteracy Issues

Tuesday, June 2 has just taken on special meaning, it was announced today. And Caroline Kennedy is going to be part of it. Whom You Know loves this group! We love literacy and proper grammar, especially the use of the word WHOM!

That evening, Gen-X and Gen-Y fast trackers, members of Society and Ms. Kennedy will join up-and-coming headliners from the worlds of publishing, fashion, design and media, at Tenjune, the hot club in the Meat Packing District.

The occasion: Literacy Associates First Annual Benefit

The under-50 supporters of Literacy Partners, New York's only accredited adult literacy organization, created the Literacy Associates Committee to raise awareness of adult illiteracy among a younger demographic.

To tee up the event, Literacy Associates has organized a special online auction at www.charityfolks.com/literacypartners, beginning May 25th. Supporters will have the opportunity to bid on exciting items like a one-week Jamaican vacation, a behind-the-scenes VIP tour of The TODAY Show and the opportunity to name a character in the next installment of James Patterson’s bestselling series, Maximum Ride. If bidding on the Maximum Ride lot goes over $10,000, Patterson will also dedicate the book to the lucky winner.
