The Lorenzo Jackson Foundation (LJF) -- a community-based, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization responsible for providing resources and financial assistance for students living with HIV/AIDS in the New York metropolitan area -- along with Founder and Executive Director Alexander Everett, and other notables, will celebrate the first anniversary of The Lorenzo Jackson Foundation in New York City at a Gala on Thursday, May 14th, 7:00 p.m. in the evening at the Inc. Lounge located inside the Time Hotel. The event will be hosted by Scott Herman of MTV's Reality Hit Series - Real World and Mover and Shaker on Whom You Know, Brooklyn and the beautiful Knicks Dancer - Sierra Jo Anderson! The event commemorates one year of LJF's community efforts while also acknowledging, and encouraging students infected with HIV/AIDS as extraordinary future leaders.

As a founder and the current Executive Director of LJF, Mr., Everett is instrumental in establishing relationships between schools, health organizations and community leaders to assist students living with HIV/AIDS and creating programs and services that will benefit the future development of infected students.

“Mr. Everett is committed to making a positive impact on the community at large and emerging generation by providing an equal opportunity to high school students living with HIV/AIDS, says Sarah Austin, “Gradually his vision inspires action and is the foundation of the sense for freedom and independence needed in the present age for our future leaders."

The First anniversary celebration will also serve as a means of raising essential operating support that helps continue LJF's efforts for funding initiatives, HIV/AIDS treatment, and education and support programs and services. It is one element of a major $1 million campaign. The event will be highly celebrity studded as well as will have many NFL & NBA athletes who will be in attendance, to support this wonderful cause!

"I am both honored and humbled to be a part of the achievements and impact that the Lorenzo Jackson Foundation has made in our community and beyond," said Mr. Everett. "As we celebrate LJF's first anniversary, we also celebrate our future leaders as represented by LJF's development efforts and stewardship that will help us thrive as a community for decades to come."

In addition to the first anniversary celebration, LJF has included other inspiring activities such as a Speed Dating Charity Event providing an opportunity to engage key executives and community leaders in a dialogue to help raise awareness; and a first-time monthly networking series in collaboration with various corporate partners in a similar awareness effort to help raise funds for the foundation’s student programs.
