NIGHTLIGHT: Andrea Tese Receives Young Innovative Award from the National Arts Club
Chrishaunda Lee, Chair of the National Arts Club’s Fashion Committee said in awarding Andrea: “Andrea Tese’s (pictured above) work has a fresh and inspiring perspective which we find very exciting. Her images cleverly combine provocation with subtlety. We feel she is a true rising star in the fashion photography field and are delighted to be honouring her talent with this award.”
“The National Arts Club needs people like Andrea Tese” said Aldon James, President of the National Arts Club, as he handed over the Young Innovation Award for her achievement in the field of photography. The statuesque beauty, clad in a custom-made dress by designer Chadwick Bell and jewels by Stephen Webster, received the Gold Medal award in front of friends, family, photographers, fashion executives, designers and journalists. The Gold Medal Award is the highest honour the club presents and has been awarded to such legends as Oleg Cassini and Dave Brubeck. Andrea's gold medal was for Young Innovative Award. Oleg Cassini received his gold medal for lifetime achievement in fashion. The NAC gives gold medals customarily for different categories.
Tese’s striking fashion photography was displayed against the backdrop of the historic club, which was the first private members club in New York to accept women. The front parlour was packed with over 300 eclectic champagne-sipping supporters, including Governor Mario Cuomo, writing legend Dominic Dunne, the ambassador to Laos (the site of Tese’s upcoming humanitarian project), Vogue’s Meredith Melling-Burke, Elissa Lumley and Valerie Boster, Sandra Ballentine (T: The New York Times’ Style Magazine) as well as journalists from French Vogue, Forbes, Lucky, the New York Times, The New York Post, Plum TV, WWD, fashionistas Kate Nahon, Be Inthavong (of Be&D), Emma Schilling-Law (Ralph Lauren), Brooke Travis (Dior), Jean-Baptiste Duquesne (Hermes), as well as New York beauties Stephanie d’Orglandes, Carolina von Humboldt, Lucia Tait, Annabelle Vartanian, Amanda Doll Sheppard and members of the National Arts Club.
