So, we are pleased to let you know about their four new flavors!!

Nestlé Nespresso, the worldwide pioneer and market leader in premium portioned coffee, has introduced four exceptional Grands Crus. Pure Origin coffees are a selection of three extraordinary espressos, each exclusively and genuinely composed 100 percent of coffees coming from a single country of origin; while Fortissio Lungo, is a more intense Lungo blend. The four Grands Crus will expand the permanent premium-quality coffee creations and selections that Nespresso currently offers, tempting the palettes of coffee lovers worldwide with new distinctive coffee personalities and novel sensory experiences.

“At Nespresso, we pride ourselves in always reinventing the ultimate coffee experience--moments of simple and genuine pleasure,” said Richard Girardot, CEO, Nestlé Nespresso SA. “Nespresso coffee experts are constantly traveling the world to bring our Club Members the highest quality coffees. And after two years of exploration and development, we are pleased to unveil our latest creations, which we hope will provide new and inspiring indulgences for our coffee connoisseurs worldwide.”

“Our goal in introducing our Pure Origin coffees is not to transform our collection of premium Grands Crus,” said Guillaume Le Cunff, International Marketing Director, Nespresso. “We simply aim to broaden the sensory space—opening the types of new taste experiences that have proven popular in our Special Club and Limited Edition offerings in a more permanent way. While the ’original’ Nespresso espressos, and the new Fortissio Lungo, are blends from several origins whose intrinsic characteristics complement one another in a unique, complex and multi-faceted taste profile, Pure Origin coffees reveal a sole and typical character linked to their origin.”

To select the Pure Origin Grands Crus, the Nespresso Green Coffee team identified gaps in its overall sensory profile map and then pinpointed various countries that would better offer the specific profiles Nespresso wanted. Nespresso is constantly working with farmers and suppliers in the selected regions to secure its long term coffee supply and to foster its Nespresso AAA Sustainable QualityTM Program co-managed with Rainforest Alliance.

Eventually, Nespresso intends to source the three Pure Origin coffees 100 percent through the Nespresso AAA Sustainable QualityTM Program, an initiative that aims to improve the quality of the product and the environment as well as the lives of coffee farmers and their communities, while at the same time safeguarding supplies of high-quality coffee. Currently, Rosabaya de Colombia is sourced 100 percent through the Nespresso AAA Sustainable QualityTM Program. Indriya from India and Dulsão do Brasil are partially sourced from plantations where Nespresso has just launched its AAA Sustainable QualityTM Program.

Nespresso Pure Origin: The Taste and Soul of Unique Coffee Regions

With their bold specificity, the Nespresso Pure Origin Grand Cru coffees are designed to reveal a sole and highly typical character linked to their origin. In March 2009, Nespresso will debut three Pure Origin selections from some of the world’s most well recognized coffee regions: Rosabaya de Colombia, Dulsão do Brasil and Indriya from India.

Rosabaya de Colombia

Rosabaya de Colombia, or ‘pink berry of Colombia’ in Spanish, consists of exquisite, individually roasted Colombian Arabicas from the high plateaus of the Cauca and Nariño Departments in the south and southwest regions of Colombia. Cultivated at an altitude of more than 2,000 meters (or more than 6,500 feet), this Pure Origin expresses the typical profile of Colombian coffee from the freshness of high plateau. Its delicate acidity, interspersed with notes of wine, is balanced by hints of red fruit—cranberry, red current and blackcurrant. With its full body and long aftertaste, Rosabaya is sure to seduce those who appreciate a complex, aromatic coffee profile.

Dulsão do Brasil

Dulsão do Brasil is a pure Brazilian Arabica, which contains the fragile and exclusive Red and Yellow Bourbon coffee varieties. Grown on a limited number of plantations in the hilly Pocos de Caldas region—an area in the southwest of Brazil where the Portuguese sea captains of the 1700s discovered the gold and diamonds that made their fortunes—the Bourbon varieties have won most of the principal quality competitions in Brazil, including the Cup of Excellence and Late Harvest.

Dulsão do Brasil reveals the subtle sunny flavors of the separately roasted Red and Yellow Brazilian Bourbon coffee varieties—a complex sweetness of honey and maple syrup on a pedestal of malted cereal.

Indriya from India

Indriya from India combines a selection of finest Arabica with a touch of Robusta from India’s major coffee states—Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu—in the southern part of the country. Cultivated in shady cedar forests, this intense bodied espresso exhibits a strong character with a whisper of cocoa and a spicy bouquet reminiscent of cloves, pepper and nutmeg. Indriya from India is sourced from plantations where Nespresso has just launched the Nespresso AAA Sustainable QualityTM Program. It is best enjoyed in a half espresso cup (25 ml or about .85 ounces).

Karsten Ranitzsch, Head of the Nespresso Green Coffee Team commented:

“To source our Pure Origin selections, Nespresso has partnered with local coffee producers in some of the world’s finest coffee regions. We’ve combined our coffee expertise with their local savoir-faire to truly capture the taste and soul of each unique coffee region.”

Fortissio Lungo: A More Intense Lungo Tailored to Consumer Preferences

Based on feedback from Nespresso Club Members, Nespresso has also launched Fortissio Lungo, a new more intense Lungo, which perfectly completes the Nespresso sensory range. Created from Central and South American Arabicas with just a hint of Robusta, Fortissio Lungo is an intense blend with a full body and bitterness, which develops notes of dark roasted beans. Fortissio Lungo is packaged in a metallic-green capsule to clearly indicate its stronger intensity of 7.

Other enhancements to the Nespresso Lungo Selection

Nespresso has made a number of additional enhancements to its selection of Lungo Grands Crus. This includes:

* Adapting its recipe to better fill the gap of light intensity in the Lungo range. With a delicate marriage of lightly roasted East African and South and Central American Arabicas, the new Finezzo Lungo is now highly aromatic, peppered with mild notes of fragrant jasmine.
* Re-introducing the Lungo selection in new metallic-colored capsules to emphasize its premium qualities.

At the same time, Nespresso has adjusted the color of the Cosi espresso capsule to a new luminous shade of brown, which better reflects its light intensity. Cosi’s taste profile remains the same as before—a light-bodied espresso with refreshing citrus notes.

16 Premium Grands Crus to Delight Coffee Lovers Worldwide

With the four new Grands Crus, Nespresso will extend its selection of permanent premium coffees to 16. This includes:

* 7 Espressos
* 3 Lungos
* 3 Decaffeinated (2 Espressos, 1 Lungo)
* 3 Pure Origin Espressos

The new Grand Cru coffees are available exclusively in Nespresso Boutiques in New York, Boston and Montréal, Nespresso Boutique-in-Shop locations (Bloomingdale’s in SoHo, Chevy Chase, Md., Costa Mesa, Calif., and Chicago, and the Bay in Toronto and Vancouver), and through the Nespresso Club (1.800.562.1465 or www.nespresso.com).
