DESIGN IN ITS PUREST FORM Style, elegance and tradition united with a spirit of outstanding innovation: a classic taste for state-of-the-art yachts

Riva: just the name conjures up a whole series of images and passions across the 160-year history of the world’s oldest and most famous boatyard for luxury craft.

With a range of 10 open and fly models from 33’ to 115’ (10 to 35 meters) with an unmistakable style, Riva boats are craft products of the highest quality with an inimitable allure. Every Riva is a true jewel, an emblem of that Italian design that is envied the world over. This classic style, so characteristic of the boatyard’s tradition, is combined with a highly innovative spirit: since the time of Carlo Riva the boats have been built to meticulous design criteria.

The perfect expression of Italian craftsmanship thanks to carefully selected fixtures and fittings (B&B seating, Frau and Minotti upholstery, Dedar fabrics, Richard Ginori porcelain, furniture by Scarpa and Antonio Luppi, Flexform tables), Riva boats are refined floating homes. The furnishings represent a compendium of styles: all the accessories, from the straw and paper carpet to the revolving seats, come from the finest Italian domestic traditions.

The continuity between past and future makes Riva boats both up-to-date and timeless, with a unique charm. All the boats are given a precise personality, with meticulous attention to detail. The lines, joinery, chrome plating, lacquering, leather, fabrics and trimmings give the boat an exclusive identity and demonstrate an elegant and sophisticated taste.

The style of Riva boats starts in the sketches of Mauro Micheli, who in 1994 founded Officina Italiana Design with Sergio Beretta. The studio, which works exclusively on the design of Riva boats, perceives the vessel as a fish, the most elegant and spirited fish of all, the shark.

"Working for a boatyard like Riva is a daily challenge," says Micheli. “It means working to the highest quality standards, both in terms of manpower and materials employed, and with extremely high expectations. Our passion is for a classic, essential, clean style of design where the key word is ‘remove’ rather than ‘add’. The aim is to achieve the essence of a unique, unmistakable style, where innovation meets and grows in harmony with a tradition that has now become legend.”
