The new Nespresso CitiZ machine range takes its inspiration from the streets – literally – of major cities around the globe. The colors of well-known focal points and objects, the design and shapes of buildings and landmarks, and the urban vibe and attitude of cities led Nespresso designers to create a new generation of Nespresso machines.
For the first time in the company’s history, Nespresso is launching a range of three machines simultaneously, which include:
* Nespresso CitiZ – a single-head automatic espresso machine
* Nespresso CitiZ & Milk – a single-head automatic espresso machine with a built-in fresh milk frother
* Nespresso CitiZ & Co. (not available in North America) – the first-ever double-head machine designed for at-home use
Besides being able to prepare the perfect Nespresso coffee that the company is so well known for, the colors and design of the machines are the stand-out difference, setting this range apart from the machines already available. Designed in a slim format to easily fit into smaller urban spaces, the machines evoke a downtown vibe and have a daring style. They were designed in two styles, both retro and high tech, to give design-loving coffee aficionados more choices:

* High-tech style is available in Fire Engine Red and Steel Gray
The CitiZ range was developed by Nespresso and designed by Nespresso’s long-time design partner, Antoine Cahen, designer from Les Ateliers du Nord in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Cahen expresses his viewpoint on the CitiZ range: “In naming the series, we always had the entire collection on the table, sometimes arranged in different ways. To me they looked like buildings, which make up an entire city. The Nespresso Machine Marketing team then came up with the name CitiZ, which I think is a good reflection of the range. It has a strong personality.”
Like all Nespresso machines, the range contains the technologically advanced and patented Nespresso extraction and brewing system, which controls all of the elements needed to create the perfect coffee. The entire CitiZ range is equipped with an automatic power-save mode to reduce energy consumption.
