Peachy's Pet Pals: Our Doggie Cousin, Jett

Jett is a Certified Pedigree Male Chocolate Labrador Retriever born on 11/11/99 sired from Bud Gravel and Gravel's Cheyenne-both Certified Pedigree Labs. His lineage varies from "Bucks for Ducks" and "Tuttles Chocolate Belle"...not to mention other American Kennel Club registered labs with creative names. He sure is a very lucky dog!

Jett will turn 10 years old soon and has a vast history of stories to tell. Everyone has a long history and one cannot pass judgement on others due to that history. Jett is fortunate to have been raised by a very loving family for the first part of his life...And, to be adopted by someone who loves him very much and looks forward to spending the second half of his life together.

From Jett's Owner:
I was informed about Jett from my contractor who was doing work in the former owner's house. Seems that Jett was not allowed into the new house and had to stay in the garage all day. My contractor, who has dogs of his own, took a liking to Jett and would often take him for rides in his truck -- just to get him out of the garage. He also built a dog bed with cushion for Jett to have since his only accommodations were the cold,concrete floors of the garage.

Jett's life did start out great. He was adopted in Northern Massachusetts as a Christmas present for the former owner's son. Jett was professionally trained and was the best buddy for a few years to a very lovely child and mother. As time went on, the child grew older and into things other than walking and playing with Jett. The divorced mother ended up meeting and getting married to someone who didn't like dogs and did not allow Jett to be in the house. Therefore, Jett was suddenly moved to the garage of loneliness.

Things happen for a reason. Just to be very clear...the former family did love and take care of Jett....it was just time for them to move on. Happens alot for all kinds of animals. That's why we have rescue services. All animals deserve a second chance. Jett found one with me. He now.......sleeps on the couch and in my bed.....goes swimming in the river and down at our lake house. Goes for rides and enjoys the company of many friends. As you can see from the smile on his face in his picture.....He has been truly loved throughout his life and as I have said before....He is a lucky dog....But, I am lucky too. I have friend for life.

And, he is Peachy Deegan's Doggie Cousin!
