Whom You Know is pleased to inform you that Julien Farel and his team of beauty experts at the Julien Farel Group (605 Madison Avenue, New York, NY 10022), have once again been appointed the US Open Hairstylists to the Players where they will be pampering the world’s greatest tennis players and coaches for the third year in a row. The salon, open from Saturday, August 29th to Sunday, September 13th, is located inside the Player Area of Arthur Ashe Stadium at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y.
Julien Farel will offer a full range of services including haircuts, hair styling and conditioning, nail care and make-up applications. Farel and his talented team have created signature US Open styles that can bear the humidity and last through even the toughest matches. This year Farel will feature Hair Thread, a technique allowing hair to be tied in to place without the need for clips or pins. "The last thing a tennis player needs is hair falling in their face during a match," says Farel. "I see such beauty in this elite level of athleticism. The players can focus on their matches knowing that they look their very best, both on and off the court," says the longtime tennis fan.
The US Open salon has been a pre and post match relaxation spot for players such as Rafael Nadal, Martina Navratilova, Jelena Jankovic, Novak Djokovic, Daniela Hantuchova, Mary Joe Fernandez and Lindsay Davenport. The Julien Farel Salon has long been preferred by celebrities and distinguished CEOs; their expert advice and unique styles have graced the style pages of O Magazine, WWD Collections, New York Times, New York Post, Vogue, Vanity Fair, Allure, W Magazine, Harpers Bazaar, and In Touch Weekly to name a few. The full-service luxury salon, on New York’s Madison Avenue, offers clients revitalizing manicures, pedicures, exceptional cuts, premiere color applications and cleansing facials. Guests come to the Julien Farel Salon to escape the stress and commotion of New York City and leave feeling rejuvenated, relaxed and looking better than they could have imagined. The Julien Farel Group is also in the process of opening a new salon with The Capella Hotel Group in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, broadening the salon’s reach to a new market.
SOCIALITES, CELEBRITIES, FASHIONISTAS AND JUST ABOUT EVERYONE CONSIDER JULIEN FAREL THE PREMIERE STYLIST AND HIS MADISON AVENUE SALON THE EPITOME OF CHIC
New York, NY, August 2009 - "I tell my staff that clients must be treated like royalty," says salon owner and hairstylist Julien Farel (605 Madison Ave., New York, NY, 212.888.8988, www.julienfarel.com). Perhaps that's why in just a few years, since opening his own salon, his client roster reads like a who's who of the socialite and Hollywood scene. "Every woman and man that comes here wants to be pampered and look better than they could have imagined, whether they are walking the red carpet or strolling Central Park."
The debonair, exceptionally talented and France-born Farel began his career by cutting hair in the French Alps to finance his skiing habit. For ten years, Farel ascended the ranks at the iconic Jacques Dessange salon and was appointed to lead the New York Training School. Two years later, after having caught the eye of Frederic Fekkai, he was appointed the title of Cutting Designer at Fekkai's Chanel-owned salon. Farel led the training of Team Fekkai in both New York and Los Angeles. There he realized his dream of opening his own salon that catered to the client's every need, from taking his time with each client to hiring the most exclusive hair stylists, aestheticians and manicurists to serving up lunch from Bilboquet or Serafina on designer china to inviting them to relax on a patio lush with flowers in spring and summer time.
The Feng Shui design of the two-story space promotes positive energy flow that sustains each visitor long after they have left. To ensure that each client can take time out of their busy lives to become properly coiffed and energized, sleek computer stations with Internet connections are available, cappuccinos are brewed expertly upon request and gourmet lunch is served. Customers also have the option to book their appointments online. When they arrive at the salon, receptionists that speak many languages in order to accommodate jetsetters from around the globe, greet them.
Farel’s philosophy - "To create a world of beauty built upon consistency, luxury and fashion forward elegance." Two exceptionally talented friends from Frederic Fekkai shared that philosophy - Hair Designer Elvin Arvelo and Color Director Peter Oon. Together they set out to build a salon that nurtures the client from the inside out. The team has also styled the runways for designers including Ralph Lauren, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Tod's, and Douglas Hannant and their looks have graced the pages of countless fashion magazines.
Each client leaves the Julien Farel Salon and steps back onto the lively Madison Avenue with a renewed confidence and a look that reflects what they had only hoped would be possible.
