Allison Parris Presents 2010 Spring-Summer Line at New York Fashion Week
Allison Parris returned to New York Fashion Week this season with a dynamic runway show previewing the Spring/Summer 2010 ready-to-wear collection at the Red Bull Space in Soho.
Opening to packed house of celebrities, buyers and press, the models strutted down the runway to a club re-mix by DJ Josch Chodakowsky of 1940’s Andrews Sisters music, the named inspiration for the collection, and displayed a sweet and sophisticated line full of intricate details. The collection, which places strong emphasis on detail, uses laser-cut leather, cotton crocheted lace and netting, leather appliqué, hand embroidery and pleated ruffle trims to add texture and interest to already strong silhouettes.
A modern take on hairstyles dominated by the finger waves and loose curls of the era were meticulously constructed by the team at Mario Diab Salon, and beauty direction was handled by Gregg Hubbard, who finished out the fresh look placing most of the emphasis on dramatic eyelashes.
In keeping with the Allison Parris corporate theme of commitment to eco-responsibility, the line uses sustainable, organic and/or repurposed fabrics without sacrificing style. The line also uses recycled PET satin, made from recycled soda bottles, to line many of its pieces.
