We told you about this fabulous event in Upcoming Daylight:

Today Peachy Deegan went to try it for herself and could not have been more pleased! The buzz around this event was like a beehive with no vacancies and when she arrived the line was wrapping around the block and only growing. However, as it was a cool cafe atmosphere, the line moved rapidly compared to most lines in this city and best of all, the food was superb and of the fine dining quality.

Although Peachy Deegan does not eat Thai and does not eat coconut, the shrimp in Bon Appetit's Spicy Thai Coconut Soup with Gulf Shrimp had her name all over it! She was pleasantly surprised at how tasteful it was and it was so unlike any typical Thai. With no trace of peanuts, and no taste of coconuts either, the spicy broth and soft noodles were the perfect companion to the shrimp to die for. This meal was of the caliber you'd see served on a silver platter but in a cafe setting on bamboo plates.

The cooking demonstration gained quite a bit of attention on the first floor, and televisions were smartly arranged around the cafe so you could see the demonstration even if you were not close. Best of all, if you just felt like you were watching a cooking channel at home, it was brought to life when the gracious hostesses brought you a sample of what you just witnessed being made.

Peachy Deegan also had Tom Douglas' Crab Louie Salad with Avocado, Deviled Egg and Crispy Bacon and it was lovely. Though the salads were premade it was absolutely fresh. For a sandwich Peachy had Emeril Lagasse's Roast Turkey Panini with Pesto, Red Pepper and Fontina and it certainly had the Emeril bam! Even wine samples were on hand to complement the outstanding food.
