DEUTSCHE BANK SUCCESSFULLY HOSTED THE 15TH ANNUAL WOMEN ON WALL STREET CONFERENCE ENDORSED BY WHOM YOU KNOW

Joanna Barsh, Director at McKinsey & Company, Unveiled an Attendee Poll based on her book, How Remarkable Women Lead

Deutsche Bank's Women on Wall Street® Network (WOWSTM) hosted the 15th Annual Women on Wall Street® conference, entitled “Overcoming Obstacles: Transforming Challenges into Opportunities,” on Tuesday, October 20 at 5:00pm in New York. WOWSTM has sponsored this conference for members of the financial and broader business communities every year since 1995. Since its inception, attendance at Women on Wall Street® has grown from 200 to over 2000.   Peachy Deegan has attended many times and believes this is one of the best conferences in the industry.

The conference began with welcoming remarks by Michael Cohrs, Head of Global Banking and a Member of the Management Board at Deutsche Bank. We liked how he mentioned how he wondered if things would have been different had it been "Lehman Sisters" in his opening comments.  Cohrs’ remarks were followed by a keynote speech by Barsh, during which she discussed the results of an attendee poll based on the principles of the Centered Leadership Model discussed in her book. Barsh then moderated a panel of female thought-leaders and senior executives, including:

Sylvia Ann Hewlett - Founder & President, The Center for Work-Life Policy Lucille Douglas, Managing Director, DB Advisors at Deutsche Asset Management Denise Incandela - President, Saks Direct Eileen Taylor - Global Head of Diversity, Deutsche Bank

The panel discussion was followed by an inspirational speech from Preethi Nair, author of Gypsy Masala, 100 Shades of White and The Colour of Love, a book about overcoming fear, and closing remarks by Roelfien Kuijpers, Global Head of DB Advisors at Deutsche Asset Management.

“For 15 years Deutsche Bank has proudly sponsored Women on Wall Street and this year we mark this milestone with another remarkable event,” said Seth Waugh, Chief Executive Officer of Deutsche Bank Americas. “Our industry continues to search for innovative ways to support women, but Women on Wall Street is the benchmark by which all others are measured.”

WOWS® is an integral part of Deutsche Bank’s diversity strategy which seeks to develop, retain, inspire and motivate diverse talent. WOWS® was formerly called the Global Partnership Network for Women (GPNW), and was established in 1991 by a group of women at Bankers Trust prior to its merger with Deutsche Bank. WOWS’® mission is to enhance the work experience and maximize the potential of female employees.
