Halloween Ranks as Biggest and Busiest Day for Sprint Picture Mail

-Oct. 28, 2009-- It’s your little one’s first foray into the dark world of trick-or-treating and she’s literally as cute as a bug in her ladybug costume. Don’t lose a single memory – aim your mobile phone, snap, hit send – and continue to enjoy the evening without worrying if the photo got to Aunt Betty. That scenario is especially true if you’re using Picture Mail™ on the Now Network from Sprint (NYSE:S).
Halloween is by far the most popular day for Sprint Picture Mail, with a 64 percent increase in traffic last year over 2007. This year, because Halloween falls on a Saturday, Sprint expects traffic to double. Through it all, Sprint’s powerful 3G network – named most reliable among major U.S. carriers in a 13-city test by PC World** – will stand tall and steady, just as it did in 2008 when millions of users sent photos without a single outage, hiccup or delay.
From photos of trick-or-treaters, to partygoers to smashed jack-o-lanterns, Sprint’s 3G network quickly and effectively enables customers to share precious Halloween memories with friends and family across the country. To prepare, Sprint regularly performs maintenance and capacity tests and has invested more than $17 billion in capital since 2006 to continue improving and expanding network performance. Sprint is also the first national carrier to test, launch and market 4G technology. Separate from its 3G investment,Sprint has announced plans to extend its 4G leadership by launching the next-generation service in numerous markets in 2009, including the recently launched markets of AtlantaLas VegasPortland andPhiladelphia.
But it’s not just Sprint’s network that makes Halloween photo sharing so much fun. Sprint also offers the best selection of devices and calling plans with the most value. Whether it’s the Palm® Pre™, the SamsungReclaim,™ the BlackBerry® Tour™ or the HTC Hero,™ Sprint offers the right device for your lifestyle.
And customers can send pictures and post them to Facebook® without worrying about additional cost.Sprint customers can enjoy Sprint’s Any Mobile, AnytimeSM, which breaks the restrictive calling circle paradigm by providing unlimited nationwide calling from the Sprint Network to any wireless phone regardless of carrier at no additional charge with Everything Data plans from Sprint.
