This November, Lilly Pulitzer kicks off “Lilly Loves Green”, a yearlong campaign celebrating all things Lilly Pulitzer loves, from the ocean and marine life to the fruits and wildflowers. Each season, print and product offerings will focus on a different environmental theme, as detailed below:
Resort 2009: Escape to the Water’s Edge
For Resort 2009, Lilly Pulitzer escapes to the water’s edge with a collection that truly captures the fun, effortlessly chic, relaxed essence of the resort lifestyle. The ocean-inspired prints and accessories, featuring coral, fish, waves and a fresh color palette, make every piece in the collection truly one-of-a-kind for every resort destination! In the effort to raise awareness for marine life, Lilly Pulitzer has partnered with the Ocean Conservancy, the world’s leading advocate for ocean preservation, and Too Precious To Wear, a campaign dedicated to coral conservation, donating a portion of the proceeds from the collection to these valuable causes.
Spring 2009: Protective Prints
Endangered species provided the inspiration for Spring 2010. Each delivery will feature “Protective Prints”, showcasing exotic animals, from the American crocodile to the swallowtail butterfly and Florida panther. The brand will also partner with World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the world’s largest organization dedicated to nature conservation, educating consumers about endangered species while giving back a portion of the proceeds to the foundation. Inspired by the collaboration with WWF, Lilly Pulitzer releases a limited edition “Pandamonium” print that plays on the WWF’s iconic black and white logo. Sure to be an iconic collector’s item, “Pandamonium” is available in a women’s shift, “Little Lilly”, tote and men’s blazer.
Summer 2010: Buy Local
For Summer 2010, Lilly Pulitzer embraces the local market, channeling fresh produce from the garden or caught from the sea. The collection’s theme, “Buy Local”, draws on vintage-inspired motifs and focuses on all that is green and organic. The first delivery is set with prints inspired by fruits, wildflowers, and veggies found at the local farmer’s market, while the second delivery dives back into the ocean with prints inspired by deliciously fresh fish and crustaceans from local fish markets.
Fall 2010: Lilly Loves YOU!
For Fall 2010, Lilly Pulitzer channels eco-friendly ways for pampering the mind, body, and soul. In embracing a healthy lifestyle, the collection will focus on spas, yoga wear, and resort getaway chic apparel inspired by – and partly made of –natural materials, including bamboo! The print design team is also experimenting with their favorite thing…color! Capsule collections include: playing with color, living with color, and mixing & mingling with color. While this collection is still in its earliest stages of design, the prints promise to refresh, rejuvenate and inspire every Lilly lady this fall.
