"Rebel Rebel: Anti-Style" Keanan Duffty

British musician-turned-fashion designer Keanan Duffty explores the ironic connections between fashion and music. Duffty’s celebrity clients have included David Bowie, the Sex Pistols, Avril Lavigne, and Sarah Jessica Parker, and he was regularly featured on Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. Guest speakers are Patrick McDonald - star of Bravo TV's 'Launch My Line' and Simon Collins - Dean Of Fashion, Parsons School of Design. A signing of Duffy's book, Rebel, Rebel: Anti-Style, will follow the lecture.

The youth-oriented label Moods of Norway has garnered unprecedented international acclaim in just under five years. Co-founders Peder Børresen and Simen Staalnacke will discuss how they established their fashion line—and in the process brought renewed attention to their homeland. Organized in collaboration with the Royal Norwegian Consulate General.

Glimpse the future of fashion with Hans Schreiber, creative director at Forster Rohner, AG, the company that made the fabric used for Michelle Obama’s Inauguration Day dress. Schreiber will discuss trends in the textile industry and will share behind-the-scenes stories of his work with major fashion houses. Organized in collaboration with the Consulate General of Switzerland in New York.

"Ruben Toledo’s Art: From Fashion to Literature" Ruben Toledo

Ruben Toledo talks about art, fashion, his wife Isabel, her influence on his work, and why “collaboration is the name of the game” for this Cuban-born artist. A signing of books from Penguin's Couture Classics series will follow the lecture. The covers of Pride and PrejudiceWuthering Heights, and The Scarlet Letter feature original art by Ruben Toledo.
