Countdown until the Olympics with the Best Olympian in Manhattan, Tim Morehouse, our Mover and Shaker!

Check out the new Vancouver Opening Ceremonies outfits by Ralph Lauren. Pretty cool, right?  Tim is in the middle.

From our Mover and Shaker, Tim Morehouse!

Tim is always doing fabulous things (Look here http://www.whomyouknow.com/2009/09/whom-you-knows-mover-and-shaker.html he is showing President Obama how it is done!), and he updates us on the Winter Olympic event held in Rockefeller Center last Wednesday:

Wednesday was the 100 days to Vancouver Celebration at Rockefeller Center and the Olympians and residents of the city were out in force to celebrate the occasion!   Al Roker and the Today Show covered the event for most of the morning as Ralph Lauren and Nike unveiled the new Olympic apparel (pictures below), Gold Medalist figure skater Sarah Hughes skated with local New York city children, speedskater Joey Cheek and others signed autographs and many winter athletes did sports demonstrations! (It was an awesome day!)

I was given the great opportunity to blog on behalf of computer company ACER and the US Olympic Committee throughout the day.   Acer also donated computers to New York City public schools as part of an initiative they have to help provide computers for under-resourced schools.  You can check out my full day of blogging at: http://teamusa.org/blog/post/1392

There were hundreds of New York City Public school children in attendance and many of them had Teach For America teachers so it was a blast for me to have two of my big passions in one place!   Special thanks to all the folks at the USOC for pulling off an amazing event!  Also to Phil from ACER for providing us a space heater as we blogged away during the day!

I can't believe its now only 98 days until the Winter Games in Vancouver!  Being at the event really reminded me of my own Olympic experiences and I felt that unique Olympic tingle in my body as arrived in the morning!   It was great to re-connect with some of my Olympic teammates from around the country and also to meet some of our new Olympians and hopefuls.  GO TEAM USA!!!!  Thanks for your support! -Tim
