NIGHTLIGHT: Brasserie Cognac of The Serafina Restaurant Group Hosts a Delightful Evening of Barbaresco 2006!

Whom You Know love love loves the Serafina restaurant group (this is the 20th post they have been mentioned in!) but that just goes to show you they are consistently committed to quality, and not only in the Italian cuisine. It was there last night that Peachy Deegan enjoyed the fabulous Barbaresco Tasting! Led by Sommelier Alessandra Rotondi, another Mover and Shaker http://www.whomyouknow.com/2009/09/movers-and-shakers-alessandra-rotondi.html the evening was a hit! Guests enjoyed several varieties, 15 of them in fact, of Barbaresco from 2006 and none of them are available in the US market as of yet.

As you know, Barbaresco is one of the world's greatest reds, filled with nuances. Barbaresco 2006 is a well-balanced vintage. During the summer, hot weather was frequently interrupted by cooler spells and September was sunny and breezy. The harvest of Barbaresco Nebbiolo grapes began at the end of September and finished around the middle of October. These Barbarescos had a full and warm flavor with an elegant body, fruity tones and subtle spicy notes. 2006 produced a total of 4,190,767 0.75 litre bottles.

Guests enjoyed amazing fresh pasta which we saw made right in front of us by Chef Piumatti, who traveled from Italy to be here, with freshly shaved truffles which were fabulous. A selection of hors d'oeuvres accompanied the Barbaresco. Whom You Know recommends all events by The Serafina Group!
